Nov 19th 2009 10:38AM I'm on the East end of LI. With a huge farm up the block from me. Pumpkins all over. 2 weeks before Halloween I went to pick my own & they were razed under. ????
WHY????? They still had 2 weekends for people to pick their own & they were gone. I don't get it. Besides that. They do all this crap to keep the deer out so they don't eat the pumpkins...let them eat them if your going to plow them under. We know hunting season is around the corner for you animals.

Oct 28th 2009 11:51AM One more note...I read Lobsters can live to be 100 - 150 yrs old, And another reason for their decline is that a lot of anti-aging experiments are done with lobsters as they do not show they age. Good God how vain are we? Another reading shows they feel pain while the other side states no they don't. I cannot imagine being tossed in a pot of boiling water alive and not feeling pain.. Yeah yeah they have no nerves to the spine blah blah, Its still cruel.

Oct 28th 2009 11:32AM to micheal demarco..A tracking device will do nothing but show you where the boat is he ended up on. All to late as he was already shipped into another resturant to be dinner. It happens with turtles. I know of one story I had read. One was tagged and being monitered. By the time they found the poor thing, she was already on her way to being turtle soup in China. It just wouldnt work. Sad very sad. Why is it, people don't realize you cannot keep taking away without putting back, Sooner or later, there will be NOTHING LEFT. We are sadly at SOONER.

I sincerely doubt he will survive the pollution or stress once tossed back after a life in clean water. Oh wait its only a lobster. That kind of thinking has led us to the depletion of many species. Such as the Herring that is used as bait to catch the lobster.
Yes there are far more important things affecting our Nation, but we all should start somewhere in our caring, to try to preserve what we have left. This is just my opinion And that is what this is for...correct?
