Cheeky House Tour Takes Marketing to the Next Level {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 14th 2011 11:51AM In the creds at the end, apparently Ryan Burke. Now go cyber-stalk him :)
While you're at it, rewatch and watch the reflection in the glass at 1:34. Several times. Someone hit the genetic jackpot.

Exclusive: Allison Iraheta's 'Friday I'll Be Over U' Premiere {PopEater}

Oct 6th 2009 12:19PM Great stuff Allison! That's fantastic for a debut song - it'll only get better from here. Keep the faith in yourself and just do it.

AT&T poised to roll out 3G MicroCell service {TUAW.com}

Sep 22nd 2009 8:41PM I've had my iPhone for almost 16 months now. The first 11 were great, even in my remote area about 35 miles from Charlotte. Then a big storm hit, the whole region lost power for 36 hours, and when the towers came back up our 4-5 bars was now 0-1 bars and seven gripe-sessions later with AT&T produces nothing except resounding "Sorry"s. And everyone that has AT&T in my locale is affected. And is also calling & griping. And now AT&T has the brainiac idea of having me pay them to buy their hardware and pay them even more per month than the $168 I'm already begrudgingly sending them so that I can access their network? Via MY ISP?!

AT&T is so 2000-late, if I can borrow that lackluster phrase. I don't know of a single satisfied soul carrying an AT&T phone right now anywhere in my region. I won't be at all surprised if they shutter their wireless service again. The remarkable iPhone deserves a much better home.

The Most Irritating Phrases in the English Language {Lemondrop}

Nov 14th 2008 9:32AM Another moldy oldie that I've heard being used somewhat in conversation lately and now also a few times on television, in reference to something being very good or excellent, they say "It's tits!".

Geez, I was glad to see that one finally go away in the early '80s. Now it's on its way back >.

The Most Irritating Phrases in the English Language {Lemondrop}

Nov 14th 2008 9:25AM Here are my cringe-worthy words/phrases:

Impact, or Impacted [where affect, affected, effect, effected should be used]

Cool beans [don't even get me started on this one]

Well, honestly... [you should not have to indicate to someone that you are not lying about what you speak of]

And largely any texting *word* shortcuts such as: txt, u, u r, ur, ILY, etc. I'm OK with expressions such as LOL and OMG for effect. The rest is pure laziness and I fear the effect it will have on our society in decades to come as our youth are growing up with this type of communication being acceptable.

15 Scariest Ghost Videos on the Web {Switched}

Nov 2nd 2008 1:45PM I'm originally from PA but have lived in NC for 21 years now. In rural areas of PA, the dialect does have a Southern slant to it but it's still discernible as rural Northern rather than true Southern twang if you're familiar with both.

The thing in the woods is odd - at times it looks like several are there and they are following the same path back and forth.

Selling Your Old GPS Device? Be Careful -- It Might Still Have Your Address {Switched}

Mar 11th 2008 7:16AM Um...I'm gonna go out on a limb here and point out that all of your information [address, phone numbers, political party, amount you paid for your house, etc] is already public domain and INSTANTLY accessible on the Internet free of charge [go to google, type your county followed by the letters GIS and do a search - viola! You can find out how much your neighbors and friends paid for their house, along with much more info about them - all of it is public domain]. Having your address in your GPS does not do a thing to put you in harm's way any more than being listed in a phone book. You conspiracy theorists need to get a grip and shake yourself.

Folding Car Can Be Stacked, Stored, and Recharged {Switched}

Mar 11th 2008 7:04AM Interesting, but that "shared transit" thing perplexes me...when was the last time you got a loaner car from a dealership or got into some other heavily-used vehicle and found its interior to be clean or even somewhat acceptable? For this car, I can only imagine *everyone* leaving their litter, refuse, newspapers, cups, cigarette butts and such behind, while spilling their double mocha latte on the seats and not caring to clean any of it up - why should they? They won't get that car when they come back and swipe their card.

And to Sherry Lilly, hun, you need some anti-depressants and I'm not being catty by saying that. Any "city car" is made as a useful alternative to fuel-swilling over sized vehicles being used as morning commuter cars with only 1 or 2 people in them. It's not a family hauler, which you would have left in your driveway when you departed for work in your Smart ForTwo or other thrifty commuter city car. And your dissertation on being banned from "everything else" and contaminated water is entirely off-topic here [you didn't realize sewage water was filtered back into drinking water and piped into homes?].

An interesting car, but the "shared transit" aspect would ruin it for me.

Who Wants a Green Card??!!! {AOL Latino Blog}

Dec 4th 2007 10:09AM What gripes my ass about all of this, is the insane mindset that thinks anyone with skin color that is other than Caucasian is an ILLEGAL immigrant. You'd be surprised, if you actually took the time to educate yourself, as to how many folks from *ALL* countries are US Citizens. They've paid their dues [literally], they've taken the necessary steps, and they are now legal citizens. That usually costs THAT PERSON around $25,000 - $35,000 dollars out of their own pocket and takes many years to satisfy all of the requirements, regardless of the country they are from. A former boss, from Canada originally but looked and sounded like anyone else "from here" had to go through that same process.

Next, even if someone is here illegally [ahem, FAYE H!], and even if they ARE using an illegally obtained social security card to gain employment, then they ARE paying taxes with every paycheck they receive just like you, me, and everyone else. That tax money is going into the schools, the local and state governments, the jails, etc. They are not getting a free ride, you dumbasses. In fact, they typically pay MORE taxes since they cannot file an income tax return at the end of the year and get a refund like most all middle- and lower-class income folks get for child credits and whatnot.

Lastly, I would like to remind everyone in the US that is reading or posting/bitching here, that unless you are a Native American Indian, then you are the product of immigrants to the US. Your family is not from here - they came here to realize a better life for themselves and their future generations. They worked here and sent money back home to their poor & destitute families. Don't forget where you came from. I don't hear the American Indians bitching about this at all, so what entitles you to do so?
