I'm sure that the Duggars are great for the planet....let's see, 19 more people likely driving cars, 19 more people who will probably fly more than once in their lives, 19 more people using electricity, 19 more people emitting carbon dioxide, 19 more children receiving education through an already stressed system (but I'm sure the Duggars will be able to pay for them all to go to college NOT). No you're right, it is a FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC idea for every family across America to have 19 kids, hell why not 30? Happy Earth Day dim bulbs!

So I guess by your rationale, adults I shouldn't be giving parents gifts then either huh? The problem isn't the giving of the gift, the issue is the message. A gift doesn't have to be "lavish" as you say...it can be a bunch of flowers or a book to read.

If your issue is over-indulgence, then that is an entirely separate issue. I am an adult (Mom) and I gift my parents and my child (and receive from them) on special occasions as a way of appreciating (not indulging). At least get your debate straight!

And as for that woman who commented that she would let her Mom sit in her own urine if her Mother was cheap, well, maybe she proved your point to some extent, but I don't think people with good values have that problem.
