Mommie Dearest: The Worst Celebrity Parents in History {PopEater}
Apr 2nd 2011 5:40AM What about Gary Coleman's parents?
Also, they didn't say about Ryan O'Neil hitting on Tatum at Farrah's funeral. That had been reported. He came up behind her and grabbed her and made an inappropriate remark as I recall and she had to tell him it was her.
Elton John Magazine Censored By 'Family Shield' in Supermarket {PopEater}

I'm not surprised it hasn't sold well since nobody in the US really cares about Elton John anymore. I think the people who buy those kinds of mags are probably younger and probably think, is that the guy that sang the Lion King song when we were kids... if any recognition.
Elton John Magazine Censored By 'Family Shield' in Supermarket {PopEater}
Jan 27th 2011 8:08AM I agree to censor it is ridiculous, because it is just a pic of a couple of older-old guys holding a baby, but I think it's a good policy to have. I imagine they have a lot of those shields for all the trash mags that are at the checkout lanes.
Something like that actually just causes more interest though, 'Why is that there?' I imagine a lot of people who don't look at the mags or only glance then looked at it because of that.

Did Elle Magazine Lighten Gabby Sidibe's Skin? {BV on Style}
Sep 17th 2010 10:34AM I guess I'll give a reasonable magazine suggestion to anyone interested. It is aimed more towards wives/ mothers than single women. It is called All You. It gives practical, simplistic suggestions, etc. I love the format even which doesn't have you flipping all around in the magazine and trying to figure out where a story is continued... back, forward. Like-minded stories are in the same place... all food, appearance, whatever...
They have real reader input even photographing them and different body types trying on the trend or look to find the best for them. Any 'race' in all sorts of shapes and sizes not just that stereotypical petite, average, plus crap. You can check them out online or on facebook as well. All You
Good luck to all of us women in getting inside our own minds, bodies & souls and not allowing anyone to dictate what we are 'supposed to be'! :-)

Sep 17th 2010 9:04AM This is hysterical to me. It was just sad, but then you BOTH decided to say 'people who call people idiots are idiots'... then call the other an idiot.
You don't even realize that you just called yourself an idiot, do you? Made me laugh when Mrblue did it, but then when bill carter did it as well I really laughed. THANK YOU!

Sep 17th 2010 8:34AM WOW! You are amazing. I think referencing Snooki kind of sums up this person's mentality, terminology, and resources for "facts".
I just hope you'll gain some real knowledge in life when you've grown up a little.
Sad... this is our future people. {UGH}

Sep 17th 2010 8:23AM I like her picture the best by far. I think the picture of Megan Fox is very unattractive (body at least which is what I notice first since it's the majority of the picture). Gabrielle's picture does look lightened all around, hair as well. It would be nice to have her appear closer to her real color, but my guess is part lighting, and part editing lighter, but I am mostly offended by the comments that her hair looks unkept, etc. Her hair is fine, I'm guessing wind blown. Photo shoots consist of many photos, many times with different hair styles and clothes choices, make up changes as well some times. Then several people usually have a say in what picture/s they will choose or choose from... best pose, or look, lighting, etc. headshots, bodyshots, 3/4. I've been out of that business for about 20 years so I'm sure a lot has changed, but I think her shot is fine... they should have considered different poses and lighting for the other women I think! They all have that washed out look. Also, the type-set is the same for the other 3 using black and red ink against mostly negative space, whereas Gabbie has all white font, slightly changed to fit in the colored background.
I think people tend to make too big of a deal out of these things... the saddest thing is that this sort of thing is discussed because it's so uncommon still to see women of color on the cover of most women's magazines. Of course they usually have the bland, pale all-look-alike-to-me models and actresses on the cover and the magazine do nothing to improve anyone's lives anyway, just feed into stereo-types, etc. Take a look at the cover stories and you'll see YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH written all over them. BTW: You'll be hard pressed on the real woman mags (not fashion specific) to find one that doesn't have both desserts and weight loss on the cover.
Dad Reprimanded for Letting Daughter Walk to Bus Stop {ParentDish}
Sep 15th 2010 8:32AM So, I have a couple of thoughts. First off I think it answers itself because they said "suggested", but it's up to the parents/ guardians. Obviously, like most, I wonder what was said or done to the busdriver... thank you for leaving that morsel in the information (left kids unattended on a running bus).
What about "walkers"? When I was in Kindergarten I was a walker. I had to walk down 2 blocks (the equivalent of 3 or 4, there was a field at the end of the second) and then a fence that I'd walk on the other side of the equivalence of another block to the school... The school was on the corner of the next street so I was on the backside. At the beginning of the year my mom walked with me the entire way, then to the fence, then to the field, then the stop sign, then just across the street. Then I did it on my own, she would watch me cross the side street (we lived at the corner of Main St. and another road, so I would cross in front of our house). I am sure she stopped watching after I did it a couple of times. I probably would not let my kids do this now, because of the distance and how sparse the block was at that time.
[BTW I doubt there are more weirdos, we just know about them now. Remember also the registered sex offenders had to do something BEFORE they were caught to get that record, and often they abuse more than 1 before being caught, but they also usually know the children they abuse.]
You have to be vigilant, but not stupid! 45 yards and crossing a road, unless it is a busy road shouldn't probably be a question. I do however think the fact the man has 5 children says nothing about the quality of father he is. We are just reading an article, many of us in the USA while the story is from England, so we don't know the location, etc.

Sep 15th 2010 8:02AM Christine, I think everyone else realized after the very beginning that YES, they were kidding. I believe it's because almost every post on here has some over-inflamed posters that say that for real. (Of course those people I doubt are foster parents or have looked into it to find out if they could be... much easier in their thoughts to rip children from their families for any little perceived injustice. Hence that first post).
I do find it hard to believe you have four children and couldn't figure that out. o.O
