APML is the most lethal of all the leukemias. every patient i have read slides on has had a very short life after diagnosis, but i hope there is new treatment for this one and he's on the road to recovery. for people like this, i am in the bone marrow donor registry and would doante in a heartbeat. be well, man..

Nov 7th 2010 11:58AM this might work and make you feel good... if you are a rabbit. i can see the weight loss comes from loss of muscle mass due to very limited sources of protein. this diet, so heavy on carbs, is particularly bad for diabetics or anyone in the impaired glucose range. people who lose weight while being starved of protein do not look healthy, they look emaciated. limiting red meat, avoiding dairy if you're sensitive, these make some sense. to to label them as toxic? i feel this diet, the book, and it's author are irresponsible. all that starch promotes your body retaining water, and with that, sodium. those together are a recipe for high blood pressure. the cardiologist who developed the program that became known simply as south beach is much healthier and will not shut down your metabolism. it's not easy, but worth the effort. if you can get thru the first 2 weeks, it becomes fairly effortless. i tried it as an experiment after my brother was diagnosed as diabetic and was told to follow it (he lost 40 pounds and has a normal glucose and A1C). it was an adjustment, but not impossible. the zone is also a reasonable alternative. both are reponsible, but not the one reviewed in this article.

Oct 24th 2010 8:18PM say what you will, without knowing what goes on out there, but it is a really good place. i have adopted 2 siamese kittens from lynnea and have talked to her and her staff on several occasions. the place is clean, the animals are well cared for, and the daily operation of the cat house is pretty amazing. there is a separate house for the kittens, an infirmary for the sick kittens, and the whole staff truly does know what is going on with all the kitties. lynnea is not a hoarder, she loves her work. my 2 little boys were about to be put down with the rest of their litter at the SPCA for being too young to adopt, and she rescued the whole litter. they were really scared and anti-social, but they got good attention there, and then from me, and they have been very happy cats from the age of 4 months (they are a year and a half now). just because something seems odd does not make it pathological. i know i couldn't do what she does, but it doesn't make her a hoarder.

Sep 15th 2010 2:20PM 0.023 is not intoxication, they must have the decimal point off. 0.23 would definitely describe that situation. Part of my job is blood alcohol analysis and even orange juice can cause a minimal false increase in BAL.

May 15th 2010 7:43PM and siamese are expecially likely to become hyperthyroid. i went thru this a couple of years ago with mine. it's very important to have it checked out because the strain of the disease on the kidneys and heart is bad. testing is cheap, treatment is not, but it works.
siamese love to yowl at night, but if it's new, be suspicious.

Mar 16th 2010 1:12AM my female siamese is easily upset by changes, so when the 2 kittens arrived (6 months apart) she had a fit. the cat attract litter made all the difference, as did the enzyme spray to remove the odor. i did take her to the vet, and there was no problem with her health, but that is the first place to start. the interesting thing is i had bought her a new litter box and she did not like the smell of the plastic. as soon as i changed it to another one, and used cat attract, she was fine. she hated her box, and her 2 new brothers. but now she actually plays with one of them, go figure.

Sep 2nd 2009 1:14AM just leased #7 (with #6 in the garage) and i don't really care what anyone thinks. they can advertise, or not, to whomever they choose. i don't think they need to waste ad money on a market that can't afford the product. it's not racist, just practical. personally, i love seeing a market previously marked as poor or whatever, beating the hell out of everyone financially. why not? why the hell not an upper class black market??? and i mean outside music and sports, like medicine and law. why not??

Aug 7th 2009 4:43PM i wish to hell all you laptop-hauling idiots would stay home with your computers! when i look in the window of the local coffee/sandwich joint and see one of you loner-losers, i keep walking. all you do is ignore everyone (including the people working there) and create a hostile environment because you stake out your territory like you own it. your computer doesn't need it's own chair, or a table meant for 4, for that matter. stay home! let the civilized enjoy conversation without the rude stares from anti-social cheapos like you. got sanka? no reason to leave home!!
