Boy Genius, 12, Has Higher IQ Than Einstein, Developing His Own Theory of Relativity {ParentDish}

Mar 30th 2011 1:39PM What I find most revealing is the fact that numerous posters have noted that no one knows what Einstein's IQ was, yet AOL hasn't gone to the trouble of correcting the headline.

Boy Genius, 12, Has Higher IQ Than Einstein, Developing His Own Theory of Relativity {ParentDish}

Mar 30th 2011 9:35AM I was disappointed that the article didn't give Einstein's IQ, so I tried to find it. All I could find was that IQ tests are a relatively recent development, and that Einstein never took one. So how does anyone know that this very gifted young man's IQ is higher than Einstein"s?

Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth Tie the Knot {PopEater}

Your Nonverbal Communication Can Wreck Your Interview {AOL Jobs}

Feb 9th 2011 6:23AM I am a strong believer that knowing how to manage does not equip you to manage everything, that knowing how to teach doesn't equip you to teach everything. Likewise, knowing some HR rules doesn't equip anyone to adequately determine who can best do a job. HR "experts" who know little or nothing about the business for which they are interviewing candidates are in a position of ilusury power now because of the current lack of jobs. They should all be aware, however, that when the economy recovers, when businesses get back to hiring people because they are the best person for the job, and not because they have a nice handshake or good eye contact, these HR exdperts will suddenly find themselves on the other side of the interview desk. Be nice to them on the way up, because you're going to pass them on your way down.

Unfortunately for Mark Cuban, College Football Isn't a Business {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Dec 18th 2010 7:53PM Joe Paterno promoted a eastern football conference for years, a conference that would include schools such as Penn State, Pitt, WVU, Syracuse, Temple, and Rutgers. Instead of listening to him, the other eastern schools turned their backs on Paterno and created the Big Least. Let's see, how successful has that conference been? What truly big name football schools are in it? How many national championships does it claim? Paterno has also been talking for years about a playoff system, but there probably won't be one till the day after he dies. Other (non-Penn State) schools: try to get over having coaches that only work at your schools for a couple of years in order to make names for themselves and then move on, and accept a good idea from a true leader, a man with some loyalty amd integrity.

Lisa Rinna's Horrifying Casting Couch Admission {PopEater}

Oct 11th 2010 2:52PM I have 2 questions. Who in the world are these people, and why in the world do I care about them? I have problems, too, and not ones that I brought on myself through vanity and silliness. Why don't they put me on TV?

Give Me 10 ... Thousand: Parents Shell Out Small Fortunes for Kids' Personal Trainers {ParentDish}

Sep 9th 2010 5:10AM Gee, I wonder if these same parents pay that much to be sure their students excel in academics; you know, the things that actually matter, instead of playing games. Despite what coaches will tell you, any given student has less than a 1% chance of ever playing professional sports. Certainly there are student athletes who have balance, and do well in their academics, But as a teacher for 30 years, I can tell you those students are in the minority. And out of all the students I had over those years, only one became a professional athlete. I wish parents would remember what athletics are called in school: EXTRA-curricular activities. They are extra, not what the student is in school to do. The argument that sports teaches students leadership and teamwork is propaganda which only tells half the story -- many activities, from serving on student council to participating in a research group teach these same skills, and in ways more easily transferrable to the adult professional world. Finally, I'm not even sure that it's true that sports teaches these values. While there certainly are student athletes who have learned leadership and teamwork from their sports, I have to say that the worst leaders and team players I have ever worked with have all been former or current athletes.

Rodney King Engaged to Juror Who Awarded Him Millions {BV Black Spin}

Sep 9th 2010 4:39AM I've wanted to say something about the Rodney King case since it happened, so here it is. The police were wrong. But Rodney King was not the saintly victim he is universally made out to be. He had been drinking prior to his traffic stop When his blood alcohol was measured 5 hours later, it was just under the legal limit, meaning that at the time of the incident, his blood alcohol was 2 to 2.5 times the legal limit. King himself admitted that he did not immediately pull over when the police tried to stop him because an arrest would violate his parole for an earlier robbery conviction. During the chase, speeds were clocked at as high as 117 miles per hour. So we've got a convicted felon on parole driving drunk at 117 miles an hour on California highways where I presume there were other cars. What if he had hit someone else -- who would truly have been an innocent victim -- in his selfish irresponsible behavior? Absolutely, the police should not have beaten him, but please, let's not send his name to Rome for sainthood quite yet. Rodney King is definitely not the innocent victim he is ALWAYS portrayed as being in our media.

Lindsay Lohan's Plan to Stay Out of Jail {PopEater}

Jul 12th 2010 6:20PM I'd be very happy to participate in a demonstration for poor Lindsay. Please tell me where to sign up for the one to SEND her to jail. (Is there another to throw away the key?)
