7 Things That Drive Vets Crazy {Pawnation OLD}
Dec 17th 2011 4:49PM
Leave my little kids at home? Step into the real world folks. IF I
were able (had a spouse at home, neighbor to help, could afford
daycare) to leave my small child at home, believe me, I would. In real
life things don't always work out that way. Perhaps I've become
disabled and divorced, can barely afford the vet, and certainly can't
afford the vet AND a babysitter. So, duh..... yeah, the kid/kids
wouln't BE there if I could help it, not all of us are stupid, but
step in the real world, it gets messy sometimes, and giving us a list
of what you prefer doesn't mean we are stupid if we don't always toe
the line. Not to mention most folks can barely afford health care for
people, much less pets. And we don't all go around getting pets just
to say, "oh, I can't afford them." Some of us feed the starving ones
we find outside and do our best to get the people and animals through lives with the least suffering.
Household Expenses You Can Do Without {WalletPop}
Mar 4th 2011 8:46PM Dishwashers? Cleaning air ducts? When things get really bad, like they have for me, things we can do without are things like cable TV and this interent connection (cable and interent will be turned off at my house on Monday). The disabled, like me, add in single parent whose X stopped paying child support, we are doing without much more than air duct cleaning.
Find a Lost Dog, Get a Baby Named After You {Pawnation OLD}
Jan 14th 2011 11:47PM I really hope these people get their dog back. Our dog was stolen, we know who did it, but, legally, we can't get her back without paying for an attorney and I can't afford one, long story.......... Anyway, I hope these people get their dog back safely and that if someone does find their dog the person returns their dog out of kindness and lets them name their baby whatever they choose.
Also, when I lived in New Mexico there was a dog-napping raquet going on where dogs were taken from more upscale type homes and when the owner posted a cash reward for their dog, the dog was suddenly "found" and returned........ sad that people stoop to that. It was in a town in south eastern N.M. not far from the border and there were a lot of uneducated people as well as a lot of illegal immigrants. It would not surprise me if the people in the article had their dog stolen by people who want to breed her and then sell the pups..... Times are hard for a lot of people, as I well know, I just wish people would decide to keep their honesty and dignity even if they lose their money or any other material thing.
Mouse Control, the Humane Way {DIY Life}
Nov 26th 2010 4:01AM Hi. I didn't have time to read many of the posts and I didn't see any that talked about the mouse "traps" that are sticky. When the mice walk on them their feet stick to the surface of the sheet and they can't go anywhere. I used these successfully several years back. I checked the sticky traps morning and evening and when I found a mouse trapped on one all I had to do was pour oil, preferably non-toxic, room temperature cooking oil, on their feet and they easily came off the sticky paper. I then boxed them up, drove them outside of town and set them free in country. These traps are inexpensive but can only be used once although I once caught two mice on one sticky paper.
10 Worst Places to Live {WalletPop}
Aug 6th 2010 6:55PM Arizona laws? Good job! I agree that the tide of illegals needs to be stopped. ALL states should adopt those laws. I don't care what color a person is... the ONLY people who are going to object to being pulled over and having their legal status questioned are people who are here illegally. And, yes, us Dead Heads are pulled over just for having Grateful Dead stickers on our cars. Do I care? No. I'm legal, I'm sober, and I do not mind showing my I.D. As a matter of fact, I have to show my identification in lots of places, such as the doctor's office, the dentist's office, when I enroll my children for school, to get a library card, at the hospital, when I am hired for a job..... Has anyone else read the immigration laws Mexico has on the books? They are MUCH more draconian than Arizona's. All the Mexicans yelling about how unfair Arizona's laws are are hypocrites. In Mexico if I were found to be there illegally I would be jailed. I would not have the "right" to have an interpreter. I could not go to Mexico and run around waving a United States flag............. The southern border needs to be secured, ASAP, in my humble opinion.......
Should Your Family Share a Bed? {ParentDish}
Jun 21st 2010 4:49PM Definitely have to go with the family bed. When my children were born and when they were young we alwasy slept together and it worked out great. As they got older I found that they seemed to reach an age, different for each child, when they were ready and wanted to sleep in their own beds. Having them in bed with me when they were infants made middle of the night feedings and changings easy, I know there are some studies that say it is "dangerous to sleep with a newborn in the bed" but, for me, I found my maternal instincts kept me from rolling on the baby and it was just common sense not to put a young baby next to the wall. As the children got older it made their sleep easier, fewer nightmares (as, at times, and during visits away from home we occasionally could not do the family bed and so could see the difference) easier sleep. And, again, it wasn't a problem getting the kids to their own bed when they were older. For me, there were mostly pros for the family bed and very few reasons against it. A very good way to raise children, in my opinion.
Claudia Schiffer in Dark Makeup and Afro - Offensive or Edgy? {Stylelist}
Jun 4th 2010 1:45PM I call it art, not racism, and I don't see anything offensive about it. I've seen other articles about models and "black face," I believe Tyra Banks was called out for it for something she did on American's Next Top Model. Ridiculous! There was a movie, I think it was called "White Chicks" and started two black men, Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans, dressed up as two blonde, white women. No one got upset about that, it was considered okay for black people to dress as white people but it seems if a white model darkens her skin some people find it offensive. It's all out of proportion and uncalled for to take it as offensive. Why can't we all just realize we all belong to the race of Homo sapiens, HUMAN BEINGS, and let art be art.

Graham v. Obama: Preacher's Kid Knocks President Over Islam Stance {Politics Daily}
May 5th 2010 6:48PM Obama sucks no matter what little boy Graham says or does... Obama never was and did not suddenly become someone with enough experience to be president. Oh yeah, and what is the big deal about showing his birth certificate? I have to do that whenever I've had to move and enroll my kids in a new school, or, in some states, just to get a driver's license. So why doesn't this Obama person need to show his to be President? It's a farce...........
Bret Baier Interrupts Barack Obama (VIDEO) {Inside TV Blog}
Mar 18th 2010 11:46AM That video was like watching two kids bickering. I don't like Obama, in my opinion he does not have the experience needed to be the President, Bush did the first "bail-out" payment, a move designed to get votes, Obama went after Hispanic votes, all the talk of sanctuary cities (did I use the right word?) for illegal immigrants, voting to give illegal immigrants rights to health care, all of that bull *^$@ is designed to get votes in the future. What about doing what is right for out COUNTRY instead of vote mongering? I think that if a politician stepped up and started doing what was RIGHT, the votes would follow. Coming here illegally is ILLEGAL and our laws should be upheld. As far as that interview, it was stupid. The guy asking the questions was being rude, and Obama was participating, it was childish, not behavior fitting of a President. If I were the president sitting in that chair and being interrupted so much I would have STOPPED TALKING until the interviewer stopped talking then I would have calmly asked the interviewer to repeat the question and then I would have answered the question as clearly as I was able, not trying to manuever around the question and if the interruptions continued I would have stopped talking again. Childish behavior from a president. I have litte respect for Obama, Ms. Palin has more experience than Obama does. Therefore, I don't use the title President when referring to Obama, I call him Mr. Obama. He is a closet Muslim, too closely associated with groups who support or are terrorists and I believe him to be a traitor to our country.
