How Old Is Too Old to Wear a Miniskirt? {Stylelist}

May 13th 2011 4:14PM The surest way to become "old" and broken in spirit is to let other people ("experts") tell you what to wear, how to act etc. What a lot of crap.

How to Not Look Fat in a Swimsuit {Stylelist}

May 5th 2010 9:39AM So if you are toned and athletic (from working out regularly) but you are over 40 you shouldn't wear a two piece? What a lot of nonsense. The moment we start buying into "you are too old for that" regardless of other criteria that should matter more (what type of shape are you in?) we are letting them neuter us and lead us by the nose to the old age home. Screw this advice. I'll wear what looks good on me. I am 51 and work with a trainer almost every day. I've earned my right to wear the two piece that looks good on me. Just because this "expert" thinks I should make sure I look like granny doesn't mean I have to! Wear what makes you feel good. Even if you don't work out!

We Tried It: The Baby Food Diet {That's Fit}

Apr 17th 2010 8:48AM Diet should refer to food lifestyle, not to self-depriving and punitive strategies for rapid weight loss. Your weight-reducing diet should be a lower calorie, smaller portion version of your maintenance diet. And permanent weight loss takes a long time (3 or 4 lbs a month). But the truth won't sell silly fad diets. The story is funny BUT it just goes to show: eating food you can't stand OR walking around in pain from hunger all day do not work. Is anyone really surprised when Kirstie Alley puts all that weight on again? Could you really eat that Jenny Craig crap all day every day for the rest of your life?

Amish Bonnet Rippers Make for Romantic, Chaste Reading {Lemondrop}

Sep 10th 2009 8:26AM Some of us like well-written erotic scenes in our romance novels. But it's good that their are choices available for those who do not. It's what rocks about having a free press.

Does Bob McDonnell Want to Outlaw Non-Marital Sex? {Politics Daily}

Sep 3rd 2009 3:41PM Well, it would certainly add to the problem of prison crowding. The small minority of the population who has never had any kind of sex outside of marriage would have their hands full keeping most of the population in jail...or maybe we'd all just be on house arrest for some portion of our lives.

Are Potbellies In Style For Summer? {That's Fit}

Aug 16th 2009 10:27AM Maybe some find a noticeable pot belly attractive (there's something for everyone) but a man with a big gut at any age is advertising a lack of health and fitness that many of us find unappealing and anxiety-provoking. Yes, it often is a sign of visceral fat, which is especially deadly. I don't see the entertainment value in this article, and I sure as heck don't see the wisdom.

It's Time to Choose -- Your Ass or Your Face? {Lemondrop}

Apr 4th 2009 2:24PM A ridiculous false dilemma. If you exercise and eat right (not to much, not to little) you can have a nice face and good backside well into later adulthood. The choice is NOT between starving yourself to have a "nice ass" OR carrying unnecessary weight to have a "nice face". But a lot of those who sell stupid diet plans and overpriced cosmetics that "reduce aging" would like us to believe that!

Which Designer Jeans Do You Prefer? {AOL Hot Searches}

Apr 18th 2008 10:32AM The surest way to get me NOT to buy your brand of jeans is to call it "Not Your Daughter's Jeans".

They've also forgotten Blue Cult and for you fans of things Canadian Dish Denim.

Abortion Ban Goes Down in Dakota {AOL Elections Blog}

Nov 8th 2006 8:50AM Common sense prevails in South Dakota.

It would be great if abortions were safe, or never happened at all. But that will only come about when birth control and high quality sexuality education are widely, cheaply and easily available. When we stop being hypocrites about the importance of sexuality in our lives.

The fact that many, if not most, anti-abortion advocates are also anti-contraception and pro-abstinence education tells the whole story. This movement is NOT about saving babies' lives. It's about controlling women by denying them the power to regulate their own sex lives (other than by saying "no" to sex). Because in the world view of these sad people, sex is bad - but acceptable for men who "can't control themselves" whereas women are supposed to control themselves AND the men and if they don't, well then they should be punished with disease and unwanted pregnancy (just what Jesus would have wanted, eh?) This is not Christian or moral, it's just mean and degrading to everyone.

Menopausal changes due to a woman's relationships, not hormones {That's Fit}

Nov 1st 2006 3:57PM To the person who made the remark that the article was written by a man, if you click the link, you'll see that the STUDY it was based on was done by a woman.

I am amazed by the number of women who feel compelled to enforce their negative view of aging and menopause on the rest of us (i.e. as the commenter above who nastily suggests that the women in the study in "20 years" - well past menopause, by the way, will have too many hot flashes to want sex.) It's a process that varies from woman to woman and some of us who stay in good physical shape and try to have good relationships with our partners contibue to desire and enjoy an active sex life. It's incredibly mean-spirited to suggest that that is NEVER possible.
