Police Bust Teens' Bake Sale in New York {AOL Small Business}

Nov 18th 2010 6:46PM They should sell sandwiches, too. And pop. And maybe some pizza. Why not? Heck, sell some candles, too. Throw in a table full of alarm clocks. They should set up a little department store there. Why not? THEY ARE JUST KIDS!! Rules and laws shouldn't apply to them. They should be able to undercut the local businesses because of their age.

The Breakup Speech Every Girl Deserves to Hear {Lemondrop}

Should the NBA Raise the Age Limit ? {Blog Maverick}

Apr 10th 2008 8:45AM

???????

Isaiah Thomas went to college. He's also a grown man who has been in the NBA for years and year. Oh, is the sexual harrassment lawsuit and Knicks debacle NOT the big black eye you are talking about?

Tim Donaghy is a grown man who graduated from college and also spent years referreing in college. Yet he got caught up with gamblers and fixed NBA games. Oh, this is NOT the big black eye you are talking about?

The big black eye specifically fits the criteria that you want it to fit in order to make a case that the 19-year-olds are immature?

Gimme a break, Mark. You are wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

Should the NBA Raise the Age Limit ? {Blog Maverick}

Apr 10th 2008 8:40AM Oh the irony of someone who made billions off of Internet business rooting for an age limit or for only college graduates to enter the NBA.

Here are some richies:

* Bill Gates (dropped out of college) -- formed Microsoft at 20. OOOOPS! You can't do that til you're 22 now.

* Mark Zuckerberg (dropped out of college) -- founded Facebook at age 19. OOOOPS! You can't do that til you're 22 now.

* Richard Branson (dropped out of HIGH SCHOOL) -- thank goodness he didn't start Virgin Records until he was 22.

* Michael Dell (dropped out of college) -- founded Dell at age 19. OOOOPS! Gotta wait til you're 22, bud.

* Steve Jobs (dropped out of college)

Uh, maybe some people are advanced beyond college? Maybe the NBA should stop trying to save its free minor league system (i.e. college basketball) and work on a way to integrate young players into the league properly? After all, your league's best players (Kobe, LeBron, Garnett, Dwight Howard, McGrady, Tony Parker) didn't go to college.

So save the idiocy for courtside ranting. There is no factual basis for the contention that players coming direct to the NBA from high school is a bad thing.

Bloggers in the Mavs Locker Room ? {Blog Maverick}

Mar 10th 2008 11:23PM Nice try, Mark. Your reasons for excluding MacMahon from the locker room are incredibly weak. It gets too full? How many people were unable to get into the locker room during the NBA Finals two years ago? No way your regular-season games get more attention than that.

DMN gets an unfair advantage by having an extra guy there who only blogs? Unfair advantage over who? If it's over regular-guy blogs, I would have to say they get an unfair advantage BY BEING THE FREAKING DALLAS MORNING NEWS! More resources, more talent, more everything beats out the guy who blogs after working his 9-to-5.

Methinks this is a punishment being doled out to MacMahon for something that no one would have known about had you not drawn attention to it by doing this.

Ohio library requires students to be accompanied by a parent {ParentDish}

Jan 10th 2006 10:48AM This attitude ... "If you're planning to send your kids to the library to get them out of the house" ... is the reason the Wickliffe library was forced to institute the policy. Parents want to pass off their parenting responsibility by sending kids somewhere they don't want to be.

If kids are being sent to the library simply because their parents don't want them around, they will be the ones causing problems. Sure, the Wickliffe policy is heavy-handed. But if parents have the attitude such as Jay Allen has, that the library is a day-care center and a place to send their kids when the parents are tired of them, you'll end up with this situation over and over again.
