Tucker Carlson: Michael Vick 'Should Have Been Executed' {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Dec 29th 2010 4:30PM The worship of athletes is a sickness. Basically, if they are talented enough, they can be forgiven anything. Here's a parallel: Remember Pee Wee Herman? His "heinous" crime of touching himself in an adult movie theater ended his career. No second chance there.

Vick did his time, but the sick sh*t he did is unforgivable. Pee Wee lost his career because, afterall, we can't have a perv entertaining the kids. But mom, dad and little Jimmie and Suzy can watch this twisted freak on TV all season long.

'Teen Mom' Under Investigation for Domestic Abuse in Front of Child {PopEater}

Oct 20th 2010 5:54PM America's obsession with Trailer Trash and Ghetto Trash really must end. Generations of young people are learning from these shows, and what they are learning isn't good.

Who Is Alvin Greene and How Did He Win in South Carolina? {BV Black Spin}

Jun 11th 2010 1:19AM Sorry about the city examples. Substitute Charleston for Biloxi and Greenville for Merdian in my post, with apologies to proud South Carolinians and Mississippians.

Who Is Alvin Greene and How Did He Win in South Carolina? {BV Black Spin}

Jun 11th 2010 1:08AM I think knee-jerk reactions on this are foolish. Consider the main arguments that have surfaced a few days after this stunning Primary result:

1. He's a GOP plant funded by Republicans who voted in droves in an open primary in order to embarrass and defeat the more qualifed candidate, thus making the GOP's incumbent a shoe-in in November.

2. There are so many blacks in the South Carolina Democratic party, that any black could win, just by showing his face - although he never DID show his face!

Neither argument works. Here's why:

In the first scenario, the GOP would have to get the word out for Republicans to flock to the open primary to vote Greene in. But they didn't! If Rush Limbaugh or other Right-Wingers had done so, it would have been national news.

In the second scenario, the same logic applies. How would blacks KNOW he was black? The short answer is: They couldn't. Voters voted for Alvin Greene knowing nothing about him other than his name was Alvin Greene. is that a "black" spelling of his name? Of course, it is not. Alvin Greene could been a Klan member from Biloxi, or a Black Panther from Meridian, and few people would have known the difference, unless they knew him personally.

That leaves a third possibility, and in my mind, the most likely and the one that should be investigated by the media and the government: Malfunctioning voting machines. A minor error could have caused the voting tallies to be reversed.

That still doesn't explain why an unemployed guy with no money would spend $10,400 to get on the ballot, but it looks like a good place to start.

Hillary Clinton Says Four Years as Secretary of State Will Be Enough {Politics Daily}

Jan 29th 2010 5:50AM Obama insulted the Supreme Court during the state of the Union for opening the floodgates to foreign election money. I didn't hear him say that he will refuse such contributions during the 2012 election cycle. That would have been an astonishing statement that would have earned him renewed respect and boosted his flagging poll numbers among disillusioned independent voters. This subject will come back to haunt him, but you'll probably have to tune in to the BBC or read the London Times to get any information on it. The Fourth Estate in the US is truly a failed state.

Can Dryel, Woolite and a Steam Cleaner Beat a Dry Cleaner? -- Savings Experiment {WalletPop}

Jan 22nd 2010 2:15PM Dryel is actually a good product. First of all, mens suits do not need to be cleaned regularly, and if you do so, you are shortening the life of the garment substantially. Dryel is a great way to freshen a suit without damaging it. Unless you are playing shortstop in your business clothes, yuou're probably not knocking the crease out of your suit pants during normal wear, so you shouldn't need them pressed very often if you hang them up right away. Remember that each time you hot press those expensive pants, you're doing minor damage. Ever get pants pack from the cleaners with a shiny round indention on the outside in the shape of a button on the inside? That's from hot pressing, and it's not repairable. I've used Dry Cleaners Secret too, but I think Dryel is better. It actually steams and permeates the clothes inside the bag. This vapor evaporates quickly once removed from the bag and hung, leaving the clothes smelling fresh. You could probably get a similar result hanging you suits outside in a breeze for a few hours, but that's not always practical.

Young Fan Wins Lawsuit for Ryan Howard's 200th Career Home Run Ball {Fanhouse Backporch}

Oct 8th 2009 1:14PM Maybe 50 years ago, the player wold have been entitled to the ball. These days, sports is a scam and a ripoff, players cheat with steroids, and greedy team owners get the public to finance stadiums the average family can't even afford to use. You think the kid's parents are scum for suing? Maybe they were teaching her the new golden rule.

Bar Uses Breathalyzer to Encourage Drinking {Asylum}

Sep 14th 2009 1:42AM Drunk Driving is not something people do a lot of in the UK. The penalties are crazy tough. They take cabs or walk. Actually, I recall that some years back that Londoner's were complaining about the large amounts of drunks walking or on the trains. They weren't worried about drivers. The government had a big push on to stop public intoxication, and while it was happening Tony Blair's 16-year-old kid was caught drunk in public. I'm not defending the practice by The Attic; just adding some context.

Roxanne Responds to the Rumors {Lemondrop}

Sep 3rd 2009 10:55AM You need proof that the Slate story is true? Here it is, from the horse's mouth:

"I'm just gonna let it go ... What he's trying to do is trying to get himself known, to get the popular sites to read after him. This is not a $5 billion Ponzi scheme. What would make someone go so hard and heavy at that?"

She's an ignoramus.

Health Care Reform Opponents' Ads Target Obama's Vineyard Vacation {Politics Daily}

Aug 21st 2009 8:53PM Obama came into office right after the economy crashed. His first act was to throw himself the biggest innaugural in history. Compare that to FDR, who simply canceled his because it was unseemly to throw a party while so many were suffering. Don't defend him by saying "Bush did it too." Obama, who's resume was even weaker than that piece of crap Bush's, won the job by pretending to be a different kind of politician. In other words, CHANGE was his ONLY qualification. He's shown himself to be just another ass who is only in this for his own agrandizement.
