The Scale: Don't Give It Too Much Power {That's Fit}
Oct 18th 2010 7:52PM I weigh myself daily too, and am neither under- nor overweight, although I would like to lose a few vanity pounds. To me this makes sense; it's how I keep track of my progress, and see if I need to adjust my eating and exercise habits. However, I don't think driving is a good analogy. The difference is, I'm assuming your car has a speedometer of its own, so despite what you "feel," you could tell how fast you were really going even without the giant sign. The stakes are also greater in regards to weight than in regards to going a few miles over the speed limit.

Jun 2nd 2010 9:24PM Thanks for that, I think I just got my monthly dose of condescension all in one shot. Mr. Rich, if this actually is a letter to your daughter, I feel sorry for her - either because she really is stupid enough to need a list like this, or because her father has absolutely no faith in her whatsoever.
Is Celibacy a Trend? -- We Chat With a 20-Something on a Sex Fast {Lemondrop}
May 12th 2010 2:18PM These women come across to me as conceited, insecure little princesses. As the interviewer her self said, many women go for long periods of time without having sex, for any number of reasons. The fact that the women participating in these "sex fasts" feel the need to broadcast their self-imposed celibacy in order to present an air of worthiness/superiority is frankly just sad. To me, it just seems like another way of saying they know they could have sex any time they wanted, but they're just such special little snowflakes that they're going to CHOOSE not to.
These women are arrogant in their perception of their own sex appeal, but their true insecurity shows through by their harping on this one issue. Once again, a huge number of women go for long periods of time without having sex for a wide variety of reasons: focusing on career/school, religious/moral reasons, not having found the right person, or *gasp* just not caring all that much. But the women who make such a big deal over so-called "sex fasts" just seem to place all their eggs in that one basket (no pun intended) and can't just accept not having sex for what it is - a choice. By turning their abstinence into a giant proclamation, they're just obscuring their own insecurities that they DO have the choice to be more than sex objects.
'Twin Peaks' 20 Years Later: How the Show Changed Television {Inside TV Blog}
Apr 10th 2010 9:42PM Hmm...bizarre characters, pastoral small town, murder? Reminds me quite a lot of another early 90s show, "Picket Fences." It would be interesting to see if there was a deliberate influence there, but it certainly sounds like it since PF would have started just as "Twin Peaks" was ending. Either way, being a huge "Picket Fences" fan, this article convinced me even more that I need to see this show!
The Real Reason Disney Changed 'Rapunzel' to 'Tangled' {Cinematical}
Mar 9th 2010 11:34PM Seems to me like they're more interested in appealing to a child's sense of wanting something new, original and unique, then they are going after the kind of built-in audience a name like Rapunzel would bring
I think you mean "than."
