I Left My Boyfriend Because He Didn't Want a Baby {Lemondrop}

Jul 4th 2010 2:52AM You made the right decision to leave, not because he is selfish, but because you were probably driving this poor man mad. To try to make someone be a parent against their will is the height of irresponsibility. What would he and your child have to suffer for his not wanting kids? Sorry, but this man has every right not to want kids just like you have every right to want them. Congrats on knowing what you want in life, but I hope you find someone who is right there with you on the whole kids thing. If not, leaving him wouldn't have accomplished much.

Kill Tilly? For the Bible Tells Us So . . . {Politics Daily}

Mar 9th 2010 12:58PM Isn't that quite a bit of picking and choosing? The Bible says to kill it, so we'll kill it. But stoning is impractical, even though the Bible says to stone it, so we won't follow that. It also says to stone the owners, but that's *too* politically incorrect, so I won't say that either. I'll just use the verses that I like. Yes, yes, I'm a true believer, picking the verses I like and using them to my pleasure. You don't see me stoning homosexuals, but I'll sure as hell get out there and tell them how much God hates them.

Now, all that idiotic hypocrisy aside, I think that the animal would be BETTER OFF DEAD. Orcas are pod animals who travel miles and miles and play in the ocean... this is no life for an Orca! Honestly, if I were a social, playful, energetic animal who was kept in an exhibit 24/7, I would go crazy, and I have no doubt that I would kill any human who came near me for sheer frustration. I'm always amazed that these animals don't snap sooner! Have a heart, SeaWorld. Put that poor animal down and stop using large, intelligent animals as money-making machines.

The Shiloh Effect -- Moms Who Opt for Weird Baby Names Narcissists? {Lemondrop}

Mar 8th 2010 10:51PM Maybe, just maybe, it means they like the name? I know that is such a terribly foreign concept when dealing with narcissism vs. good parenting, but did you ever stop to consider that if a person names their child something rare, maybe they just like it? I make up more names than Tolkien ever did, and I do it because I enjoy it. In fact, one of my cousins took one of those made up names and named her daughter after it because it sounded so pretty. Her first daughter's name is one of the most common in her age bracket- Madison. You can bet Maeleigh Grace gets some attention for her name, but her mother is the furthest thing from narcissistic.

Tweeting Your Miscarriage: Is Nothing Sacred? {Politics Daily}

Sep 30th 2009 11:40PM She should not have to be ashamed of her feelings. Discretion would be wise, and birth control wiser still, but she has the right to feel however she wants about her own body. "Career women" are no different than career men in ability, and yet they face many more hurdles. For one, no matter how much a guy sleeps around, he's guaranteed not to get pregnant and have to work while enduring public scrutiny and private hell. You can hide a mistress, but you can't hide a swollen belly. And you can deny kinship to the child as a father, but the mother doesn't have that luxury. She has to put her entire career on hold, and no, it is not fair. If men could get pregnant, abortion would be not only acceptable, but as simple as a single pill available over the counter. There would never have been a war for "life" if it were holding men back instead of just women. Take a sociology class, ask a sociology expert, and you will see.

Germans Stink in Bed, Literally {Lemondrop}

Sep 30th 2009 4:30PM Did you read the article? The reason they stink in bed is because they STINK, LITERALLY. The author was using it perfectly, and if you bothered to read it you would know that.

Father Wants Baby-Snatching Wolf-Dog Hybrid Back Home {Pawnation OLD}

Aug 26th 2009 5:45PM Most of these comments stem from a lack of understanding of dog psychology, and yes, wolf psychology. I believe that it is irresponsible to have what is really a wild animal as a pet in conditions which you cannot meet every last one of its needs, including discipline! I believe that this hybrid was most likely not trying to cause harm to the infant, however, because of the delicate nature of human infants (puppies are MUCH more durable) and because the parents did not properly tend to the psychological needs of the dog (which means learning to treat the infant as something not to be touched without greatest care), this turned into a dire situation.
In my opinion, the family is simply not prepared for the challenges of a dog such as this, but this is not the fault of the animal. They should not be able to have the animal back unless they are willing and capable of training it properly- it will only result in more pain for everyone involved.

PETA Unhappy Meals Targeting Kids {Slashfood}

Aug 8th 2009 12:15PM Every day, millions of animals suffer HORRIBLY, and these people are upset because PETA approaches it with the honesty it deserves? You think we should shelter kids from the truth? If you don't want kids to see this, STOP IT!!!!! STOP the abuse of animals for us to have a burger or a mcnugget. Then our children will not have to be exposed to this truth in order for it to stop. You can say it's wrong for children to be shown this all you want- but it's the food companies who are torturing them, not PETA. If it weren't happening, PETA would not be involved. They are not NEARLY as radical as the media makes them out to be, and the ignorance of the general public as to PETA's real goals is appalling. I used to hate PETA because of what the media portrayed it as- but they are simply doing what they have to to fight for what they believe in- that animals should NEVER be tortured for profit. THAT is what is happening in food companies.

A New Sort of Performance Enhancement Muddies the Water {Fanhouse Main}

Aug 5th 2009 2:04AM When are we going to classify suits as "ergonomic"? There is a natural progression in all swimsuits from least ergonomic to most ergonomic- that's just common sense. Are we going to place a cap on just how ergonomic the suits can be? If so, where should that cap be? I agree that no one should have an unfair advantage, but the fact is, well, there always IS someone with an unfair advantage, whether through diet, drugs, genetics, special equipment... how do we determine what is "fair" and what is not?

KFC 'chicken twister' causes brain damage, says 11-year-old, suing {WalletPop}

Aug 3rd 2009 11:55PM KFC is one of those unfortunately common corporations that do not care about the health or welfare of anyone- only about their bottom line. The chickens they use are from factory farms, and are therefor MUCH more susceptible to having diseases that can be passed on to people. It is not only cruel to the animals- it is dangerous to the ignorant public who eats these concoctions.

Can Artur Davis Win in Alabama? {Politics Daily}

Jul 10th 2009 10:31AM Good luck to him, but I am from AL, and a lot of the people I know are right-wing nuts who don't believe that anyone other than a fundamentalist born-again deer-shootin' white male can do anything worth paying attention to. Most of us are just as tolerant and normal as the rest of the '48, but there are enough crazies to sway the vote if they all get out, which is disappointing.
