Baby Formula is Not Rat Poison {ParentDish}
Apr 17th 2010 6:42PM I breastfed for 6 and 7 moths respectively with my 2 children (now 9 and 7). I wanted to do it longer but could not keep up with the demand as I worked as a teacher. With my firstborn, my depression about my job change (transferred while on maternity leave) and other issues caused me to stop eating and not produce milk. With my daughter, I was obsessive from day one and hoarded over a gallon of milk by the time I had to go back to work (2 months) but then had to go on antidepressants or go crazy. I made difficult choices because of my health and urge every woman to try to breastfeed if you are able, but not to feel like less of a parent if it is not for you. I think everyone should try since it is so much easier than bottles once you get the hang of it!

Let them know your feelings but be willing to compromise when we don't 100% agree. Come on, we all were little girls who wanted to wear fancy shoes...
