Sep 17th 2010 9:37PM I agree with You, Addison- Employers are well aware that these are concerns for anyone pursuing a position, and this information should be given voluntarily. I felt it was "poor form" to discuss wages and time off during an interview, and was stunned that I would be paid half the average rate normally paid for that particular position. The responsibility is mine for not asking the appropriate questions, I naively assumed that after proving my work ethic during the 90 day probation period- things would improve. I had to learn to be direct and ask for what I want.

Jun 24th 2010 6:21AM ... I agree with both Panama and Emily. Its Good advice that should be repeated over and over and over. Of course most of us may be tempted to internet-stalk someone we are interested in - But context IS everything. Just because someone may leave a questionable comment on my wall - It doesn't mean I've dated him, or even want to. Odds are, its a friend I've known for 10 years, and the comment was an 'inside joke'. Friend lists leave you open to make assumptions, when you really need to remember - It could be relatives, friends who are married, work associates, classmates from school, and possibly even just a random internet friend whom they've never even met.
Profiles can be good only for generalizations, If they listen to TOOL , then they probably don't listen to Lady GaGa - but then - You'll never know for sure unless you have an actual conversation. That's part of the fun of getting to know someone - the 'not knowing everything ahead of time' - the interaction!

Aug 14th 2008 9:13PM Thank you Anna! I think you nailed it on every point. I've mostly been won over by humor and intelligence, and I dont think anyone would have mistaken my boyfriends for studs. And yes, it is nice to hear someone sincerely say they think you are beautiful - and it still hurts when someone burns you, no matter what you look like. And it IS annoying to have men talk down to you when they dont even know you. lol . Can't everyone just be nice? hmmmm?
