Feb 21st 2010 6:40AM I agree with Dr. Drew, in that, I also walked away feeling there is more to this situation than meets the eye. Was his apology sincere? Probably, considering the pressure he has been under. I guess he has decided to do the work to resolve some underlying issues, but it is clear that his wife, Elin, is the stronger of the two. I am guessing she is still in the picture only as "support," until he is out of treatment. Oh sure, she still cares about him and still loves him I'm sure. However, once he comes out of therapy, she will file for divorce.

Nov 28th 2009 4:16PM I hear ya girl. My mother was a neat freak too. As-a-matter-of-fact, that is the only thing I remember of my childhood....my mother with a broom in her hand. I'm an easy breezy house cleaner as well, and my place and space are my own now. And believe it or not, my mother doesn't keep a clean house as she once did. I have had to go over there and clean bathrooms, kitchen, etc. That lady made me neurotic, and frightened as a child. Today, she is old and doesn't remember any of it. Or so that is what she says....lol.

Oct 9th 2009 4:42AM Many years ago, I found a June bug in a can of peas. The can of peas was an off-brand, and I have not purchased off-brand products since. I had to assume that since the products are cheaper, they are not as careful in their handling/production processes.
I also found a tomato worm in my salad one day. Of course, that salad went right back to the restaurant. They apologized, and gave me my money back. No more purchases from there either. When something like that happens, it happens for a reason. Someone is not paying attention.

Jul 2nd 2009 4:44PM I think that anyone who can "legally" drop their children off to start a new life, must also relinquish their right to have more children. In other words, they must "legally" submit to a tubal ligation or a vasectomy.....period! This is only fair if I (a taxpayer) am forced to pay for YOUR children also.
These people have no business having children. What are they thinking? Can they not understand what is causing it all? This story infuriates me, and these children must feel so angry and hurt, and disappointed. This man will answer to a higher authority one day!

Jun 1st 2009 5:46PM When cigarettes started climbing in price, I felt as if someone was holding a gun to my head. I also decided that I could not afford the extra money in this recession. So, I smoked my last cigarette in March, and never went back to the store for another pack. I just walked away. I had tried patches, medicines, etc. all to no avail. And the reason I didn't quit then was because I didn't want to. This time the cigarette manufacturers are going to hurt because I know how much I spent every month. Now I can actually afford a new car. It feels wonderful, and I don't miss the cigarettes at all. Just walk away like I did. Cigarettes are not worth your health or the health of your family.

Oct 7th 2008 5:07AM It's been said that bad people will get their "just due," it's just so rare to be able to see when they actually get what they deserved all along. So, I hope that Nicole's family, and the Goldman's will finally get some closure here. Even though this conviction is not for the murder of their loved ones. It is still a conviction, and it means Simpson will get to rot in a jail cell for a while anyway. Let's hope he doesn't make the mistake of dropping his "soap" in the shower...LOL.

Oct 5th 2008 5:39PM I would have to say, after reading all of these comments, that this child is probably being abused. And this is his way of getting some attention. Yes, he has received attention alright. The state may not be able to prosecute or arrest him, but I think they should move in quickly and take him out of that home. Someone will pay a very substantial price if this child is not helped now!!

Aug 12th 2008 7:42PM As a woman, as a democrat, as a former Edwards supporter, and as a proud South Carolinian; I am not sure I can adequately express the outrage and disgust I felt when this story was first published. Why this man felt the need to seek comfort in another woman's arms at such a vulnerable, and frightening time for his wife, is beyond comprehension. Yes, his political career should be over...period! Of course other politicians have ventured down the same road, but not under these circumstances. Edwards was running an active campaign, taking our money, accepting our free volunteer hours, and sucking us in because he thought he had a "free ride"...his wife had cancer. So now that he has been caught, does he apologize for his despicable actions? Of course not, he just says "oh well, I never really thought I had a chance anyway." Duh!! Mr. Edwards, it is my sincere hope that your wife divorces you, takes your children and your fortune away, recovers fully from this cancer, and can move on to find another man who is deserving of her.
