Dec 28th 2010 4:39PM Date "screening" isn't exactly new technology. As long as friends have been setting up other friends we've had some sort of screening established for dates. Or even matchmakers, all the way from the traditional arranged marriages to the contemporary professionals like Richard Easton et al. Of course, not everyone background-checks their potential date. In hindsight, maybe I should have done that with the ex.

Some people can make the online thing work, but when you're in your forties like I am, you don't have the time to waste on false people.

Jan 24th 2010 5:28PM It's a shame that there are so many restrictions to this deal. I would love to get a car for only $10 a day! There are other deals out there, though...like the Jet and Drive Giveaway, which I've been supporting on behalf of JetBlue and Hertz. You can get $25 certificate back after booking a flight and car with the two. Any way to save a buck, right?
