I think this DOES show a great deal of culpability on the side of the TSA. Not to say this gal is ok doing what she did at all, but the TSA needs to belooked at. The blocking out of the search, what is that about? To me it is clearly showing that they consider this some sort of privacy issue. Why then does it not matter in the airport when there are thousands of people around to see. Where is the privacy screen then? I say this because I have to go through this all the time, as I have a metal knee also. My beef is (1) the total disrespect and humilitatinm manner in which they conduct these searches (2) as a woman, there is probably less than 1 woman employee to every 10 men in the TSA so guess what happens when I need to be searched? I tried to have this addressed one time, I was told it would be taken care of in line, several times. They were moving particularly slow that day, (busted for inefficient searches the day B4) thankfully I allowed for extra time. When I got up to the gate of course the detector went off. I wore no metal in my cloths, shorts so they could see the scar, and still, they made me wait for the strip search because there was no woman there. They had 1hr 45 min to get one there, so I had to wait when this was finally done I had to grab my things and run they offered NO help, no call, no nothing. I tore some tendons when I was running to the plane and by the time I got there the pilot was there ready to go, 20 seconds more & it would have been too late. I have arthritis so when I tore those tendons, not only is it terribly painful to walk but they never really heal, so it is like having a broken foot 4ever. That whole process is an inexcusable invasion of privacy, but also seems to me to be pretty discriminating to the female traveler. How many hours early do I have to get there? This should be taken care of early enough to avoid this and stop this shitty treatment by these TSA people. They put in ramps for handicap people in wheel chairs, does this not merit some sort of acknowledgement and assistance? Do we need to have that humiliating search in front of 1000's every time we need to go through that gate? Lets not forget the wait if some one is on a break or there is just no woman there that day. BTW, never has one of the TSA's been the least bit nice or accomidating about this procedure either.

Eileen, you are what people fear, you actually believe that republicans are in this for you, the very point and purpose of the Fox network and the 'radical talk radio' & other such programming, is to recruit people like YOU. You are being courted to fall for the lies, the target group here is "those dumb enough to believe the lies and propaganda" and upon this wooing and recruiting, they expect to have your votes and you campaigning efforts even though EVERY thing they stand for diametrically opposes the needs of the working man. Have you Eileen's of this country ever seen any republicans fighting as hard for something, to benefit the average American as this current administration is fighting the healthcare battle? The republican businesses agenda (and the acceptance of cash by 'right wing pols') is they want to keep their predatory insurance companies so that they can take money for nothing, they provide NO service, they just want to take, take, and pay themselves not the doctors for caring for people. The whole notion of today's insurance companies is such a farce, they just take you money with the intent to use it to invest for them selves, to make more money for the CEO's & insurance management. They want to take the money and play banker instead of paying your doctors. Why do we need them to stand between us and the people (Dr's)they are supposed to pay? Would you accept the use of a middle man to stand in between you and a black jack dealer at a gaming table? And allow them to keep 35% of it before even placing the bet? You hand them the $100 to put on the table and they put 65% on the table for you? And tell you how to play so you lose? Or just play with your money and tell you that you lost it all while they keep their(?) your winnings? Would you? They use your hates and fears to rile you up and to have you rile up others for their cause. They do not care one iota about gay people getting married this was just an issue to rile up the masses, and you folks fell for it hook line and sinker. It is sad really you bite the hands of the people trying to save this country for you. While you are biting those hands, you viscously & rabidly promote their agenda that is bad for you. What is with all this teabagging nonsense? This starts as a protest on 4/15/2009 the infamous tax holiday for Americans, and you are out there screaming and protesting your tax cuts what is up with that? You are out there cheering for the people who want to strip the budget for the schooling for your kids, they want to have their taxes cut and yours hiked. Why would you be cheering that? Brainwashed by hatred over what they told you to be hateful and fearful of? Why Eileen? Why?

They have not a hint of impartialiality going on and what they really are is a source providing a horendous amount free advertising and slimy PR tactics, to serve the republican business agendas. From this moment on, a face in the crowd should be required viewing for the entire democratic party and any news outlet worthy or being called an impartial news source.

Oct 6th 2009 7:06AM I must admit I was cringing during the black face scene. I know things like that used to be considered acceptable in some circles a very long time ago. I am quite sure that would not have happened where I am from. I remember seeing old cards in a scrap book from the thirties and forties given by pompous people from a small town, my mother was of the same era and was shocked to see the cards. Perhaps things are different in NY, maybe that is why Don felt the need to piss in the trunk of some one's car, there is quite likely some truth to that story, who's ever it was.

Sep 24th 2009 4:56AM Sounds sort of like another time travelers story, having to make the choice, to stay or go back to his time. Always been my #1 fantasy is to travel back in time. I have many choices.... The time of the Minoans (Atlantis) the Greeks, in the time of Pericles, or Aristotle, Socrates, Plato it would be interesting to visit with any one of these people, or maybe DaVinci, then every time I visit Mackinac Island I can't help but want to see what it would be like to be back there 100 or 200 years ago. We used to go there every summer and go to the forts and other historical places, the Island was by far the most elegant of accommodations but the whole area was intriguing. That was even before I read the book or saw the movie Somewhere in time, which took place on Mackinac Island. The book I mentioned about the time traveler with the choice to stay or go back, was written by the same author that wrote Somewhere in Time. I can't remember the title but it was a good read.

So for me I can't really decide when I would want to go back I would want to make several trips. I am curious to see what others want to do.
