Sep 14th 2010 2:55PM I couldn't agree more Maria! And in our 20's we are so melodramatic, and make so many things so serious and tragic. And when we are maybe a little bored in our relationships/marriages, rather than working harder to love our spouse better, we romanticize what we think might have been with a person from our past. I wonder what these same people will feel like 10 or 20 years from now...a follow up book would be interesting!

May 27th 2009 10:44AM I am one of "those people" that do feel that so many "black only" functions and programs are standing in the way of a truly united human race.

But this shocks and disgusts me. I can't even imagine that in this day and age in this country there is still such a thing as a segregated prom. It's repulsive, and these parents should be ashamed of themselves, truly.

I make no excuses for white people who are racist...they're disgusting. But having "black only" organizations doesn't help the problem, it adds to it.

May 22nd 2009 4:49PM I disagree. A pedofile walking by will have dirty thoughts and possibly develop a fixation on your child whether they're naked or clothed. Sorry. This sickness goes way beyond nudity and your toddler runing around bare bummed isn't increasing their risk.

As for the unsupervised children in the tub and yard...that is absolutely dangerous. The yard may be fenced in, and the dogs may be protective, but far more children are the victims of simple accidents than of child abduction. What are the dogs going to do if your toddler falls and cracks his head on the fence, or falls in a window well? And I believe drowning is the number one cause of accidental deaths in small children.

Sometimes we have to inconvenience ourselves for the safety of our children. That's why we're called parents.

Dec 4th 2008 8:01PM Actually, Meri, perhaps you should re-read the article. It does not say anywhere in the article that the animals are herded from the "wild" in helicoptors. It just says they are herded. Ranchers/farmers own hundreds (or thousands) of acres of farm where they raise their herds, hence the need to "herd" them when it's time to round them up. The article also uses the word "raised", implying that the animals are brought up by the farmers, not simply found and herded from the wild.
