The Mommy Diaries: Hiring a Nanny Is Hell, Too {Politics Daily}

Feb 15th 2010 1:32PM "IN your experience" what experience? because in mine...as a mental health care specialist in the school system, "day care kids" as you call them, do not have more anxieties than kids who stay home. Each child is an individual and each mom is too. Some moms wouldn't know how to prepare a kid for school to save her life. Some moms would. Some kids that never leave mom's side have a rough Kindergarten year and some don't. What is your experience?

Feb 15th 2010 1:29PM I can't afford a nanny and I don't think I'd want someone in my house anyways, but I do use daycare and I do work and I am sick and tired of being judged by so many moms who sit on their high horse and look down at me for working. if you can and want to stay home, fine, good for you. But if I need to work, how dare you think you're better than me. There is more than 1 way to skin a cat and I am so tired of of being judged for doing what I grew up thinking was "the way". Do good in school, try your best, go to college and get a job and a family. How was I supposed to know that if I followed the steps that we all teach our girls, that I'd still be put down for not doing it the way you do it.

Feb 15th 2010 1:22PM I take extreme offence to that. I work full time and I am a good mom. I do the best I can do. Thanks to my job, I'm also able to stay off welfare and pay my bills. If the only people who had kids were those who could stay home with them, our society would quickly turn into one where only the very rick and very poor reproduced.

Feb 15th 2010 1:17PM to me, whats "important in life" is my kids...making sure they eat, have a bed to sleep in, clothes to wear and opportunities in life that lots of families can not afford to give their kids.

Feb 15th 2010 8:18AM I don't understand the anger thats coming out in this post. My kids go to a small private daycare that I LOVE! The staff is wonderful and I am very greatful to them. I follow the "sick" policy and stay home with my kids if they aren't feeling well. My husband and I both work in education and if I didn't work, we couldn't pay our student loans, mortgage or anthing else consistantly. The fact is, this society is a dual earning one for most familes. I am college educated and although its hard to leave my kids sometimes, I know that they are being taken care of. My mom always had to work, and we had and have a great relationship. Lets stop hating the parents who have to work and support them in finding quality individuals to care for there children while they are gone so that they can have quality time with them when they are home. This is not an elitest or poor, or republican/democrat issue, its just a family issue.

Boy Pageant Contestants Gaining Visibility {Lemondrop}

Sep 24th 2009 9:36AM To judge a child based on their apearance seems so disgusting to me. I want my kids to grow up feeling good about themselves; for their personality, brain and the way they treat people. Not to raise kids that think that the world only looks at their appearance to judge them. Pageant parents can make any excuse they want, but its crap!
