Opinion: Happy Meal Toy Ban Is Just Plain Sad {ParentDish}
May 11th 2010 11:46AM My daughter has collected these toys since she was a child. She's a very health-conscious adult, and is not overweight. This is a knee-jerk reaction. Remember, IN MODERATION, folks!
High School Erases Gay Student From Yearbook {Lemondrop}
Apr 30th 2010 11:12AM Homophobia at its most blatent. Remind the administration that if there's 300 kids in the graduating class, about 30 of them are gay. I hate frivolous lawsuits, but I'd like to see these jerks get a reality check.
Does She Talk Too Much? {BV on Love}
Feb 27th 2010 11:45AM I man who says his wife talks to much probably talks too little. She probably is lacking emotionality and connectedness from the relationship. It's the same as a man who claims his wife is too sensitive. Any psychologist knows that the man is too insensitive. Make sense?
Why America Hates 'Fatties' More Than Druggies {PopEater}
Feb 26th 2010 4:49PM I have to laugh at these young people who have so many negative things to say about the overweight. I can't wait to see you in 20-40 years when you are as overweight as the rest of us middle-aged folks. It has to do with metabolism, chemistry, and genetics... when you're pushing retirement age, you may not have the energy to work out three days a week... so walk a mile in the other guys shoes for a change...
Is Kevin Smith Too Fat to Fly? (VIDEO) {Inside TV Blog}
Feb 16th 2010 2:24PM I can't believe I'm sounding insensitive but here goes anyway. I don't have a lot of sympathy for the morbidly obese people who ride around in wheel chairs at the food stores because they are too large for their legs to hold them up. If these people were on an air flight, I believe they would pose a risk to other passengers since they are not ambulatory and could endanger others if there was an accident and panic broke out. People can lose weight and do, so there's not a lot of excuses for not doing so. I'm conscious of my weight everyday, so I suppose I expect others to be as conscientious as I am...oh, and also...I'm not heart-broken for the chain smokers who have strokes, heart attacks, and lung cancer...I'm just a big meanie, I guess.
Duggars Present Baby #19 {ParentDish}
Jan 28th 2010 4:28PM Don't watch the show. Or stop watching the show cause if this show isn't child exploitation, I don't know what is. If it wasn't for all the kids...no show...no money. Viewers can put an end to this lunacy really quick by not enabling. And don't bring God into this. I doubt if a family who pops out a baby every 9 months is high on His priority list. And we all know Jim Bob doesn't need a "to-do" list. LOL
Unsold clothes destroyed at H&M -- until Twitter roared. {WalletPop}
Jan 7th 2010 6:58PM This practice defies logic. When items are on the treelawn for garbage pick-up, they're fair game for anyone. It doesn't matter if the items are resold at garage sales, or used by poor people who have a need for the items. This should apply for stores as well. At the store where I work, if an item is going to be discarded, the policy is that the employee CANNOT have the item if we want it. How sad and stupid! My mother taught me to recycle long before it became politically correct. I hope these stores change their selfish policies.
Subway Guy Falls Off The Diet Wagon {That's Fit}
Dec 29th 2009 2:45PM To the people who say that the overweight people should simply stop eating so much, I say "the only reason you're NOT overweight is that your metabolism is keeping you thin." As you age, your metabolism will slow, and the weight will eventually creep on. You can offset this by weight-training, cardio, and/or body-building and eating several small, low-calorie meals a day, but if you aren't that conscientious, you too will be shocked at your own weight one day! I'm an average size (which is not thin), and probably weigh less than most others of my age-group, but it gets harder as you get older. Don't gloat. You'll see.
'The Lovely Bones': An Adaptation That Dishonors the Book {Moviefone Blog}
Dec 24th 2009 10:50AM Don't change the plot of a book FOR ANY REASON!
If a book was excellent enough to have a movie made from it, that is reason enough to respect the literary qualities that made the book outstanding. There are plenty of ways to keep the rape scene in, while de-emphasizing, and making it less graphic. The rape is an integral part of the plot.
