Mar 5th 2012 9:46PM The "HOA Officials" knew exactly why the small red kangaroo was there. It was just another attempt to exact control over the homeowners. Their dictatorial attitude is the same as many associations across the country. Usually the first/wealthiest resident of the neighborhood will get his little cadre of a committee & draft rules expected to be obeyed by everyone except himself! The HOA's that actually benefit the homeowners are becoming a rare breed indeed!

Jan 25th 2012 3:11PM I will never live in an HOA run complex either. Most of the time it's run by the oldest, richest owner in the place. They mete out laws & bylaws that never seem to pertain to them but can bring pain & suffering to the other residents. I used to save the term "Blood Sucking" for Lawyers, and nothing has happened to change my mind. But I'm afraid I'll have to add HOA's to the list also. I read an article a while back that they were going to assess a huge fine if another Vet continued to fly the American Flag in the front yard. Let's keep the HOA's an association...and not a witch hunt!

Jan 14th 2012 11:54AM If Virginia Beach is this great...it must have changed a great deal since I was stationed there years ago. It was street after street of sleazy bars full of predators, pimps & prostitutes. It was almost like a vampire community...not much movement during the day but come dark the bad element seemed to be everywhere. If it has changed...then so much the better. It just seems that for every good thing a city has to offer, there's just as many sleazy things to be found!

They have a list of pet peeves they ram down the throat of subsequent members & generally run the area with the demeanor of a dictator. There are very few rule amendments except where it will also benefit the dictator. In many instances...the HOA leader is not too different than a slumlord to the affluent!

Jul 8th 2011 5:32PM Well Today show? That was a mistake wasn't it. The American TV viewer has no interest in anything the "octomom" has to say or do any longer. She is past being old news. As for myself...and I would wager for many more like me...I will turn the TV off & leave the room for the time she is on. There is no reason to keep enabling her or any like her any longer. They are a parasite on John Q Taxpayer...and it's getting tiresome!

Jun 11th 2011 11:30PM I must have been living under a rock. I just found out the other day that NPH was gay. My brother was gay & died of AIDS almost 25 years ago. I'm trying my best...but I've found it really hard to understand what it means to be gay...because in my family it has only meant death. I've been married for 44 years this summer & have had some beautiful daughters. I thank my lucky stars they are straight & have given me 3 great grandkids. Maybe someday I can accept everyone for who they are...but it's been a battle. Believe me!
