Airlines Set to Test Do-It-Yourself Bag Tagging {AOL Travel News}
Nov 3rd 2010 8:28PM The airlines may well find themselves in the same hot water railroads find themselves in. At one time, nearly everyone knew of someone or had a relative who worked for a railroad. It was a lot easier for railroads to get public sympathy when so many people worked for them. Now that is not the case and railroads have dropped off the public radar unless something bad happens.
In addition, airlines could use more friendly faces, not less, since their service ratings are dismal anyway. Impersonal relations with customers do not engender their brand loyalty.
Dangerous Body Language Abroad {AOL Travel News}
Jul 17th 2010 1:47AM The Middle East is a hotbed of foul gestures. When using the restroom, they clean up with their left hand. Thus extending the left hand to someone is an insult along the lines of equating them with manure. Also, when sitting keep your feet flat on the floor. Showing the sole of the feet (or shoe) to another is saying that they are as low as dirt. There are more, but memory fades with time.
Miley Who? Taylor Momsen Is the Teen Star We Should Be Worried About {PopEater}
Jul 3rd 2010 10:27PM Miley Cyrus is still very much attached to Disney and has many very young fans. Yes, she is a role model and will continue to be as long as Disney promotes her (including reruns). I think the parents would rather she became like Mary Tyler Moore instead of the path she seems to be embarked on.
Tiger Woods Reportedly Leaving Rehab This Week {PopEater}
Feb 4th 2010 11:49AM Sex addiction does indeed exist. Perhaps the majority of medical science hasn't caught on yet, but studies have shown that sex can have the same effects on the brain that mind-altering drugs have. The pattern of addiction is also the same. Just as with alcoholism, there are 12 Step groups such as Sex Addicts Anonymous that successfully deal with this illness. Google Dr. Carnes for more information.
Is Saying 'We' the Key to a Happy Marriage? We Hope Not. {Lemondrop}
Feb 1st 2010 2:16PM Here's your problem: "Fine, even if the habit of referring to yourself in the plural when you're not the Queen of England..."
Husband and wife ARE plural. When they say "we" they are talking about the two of them. This is standard English. How about learning it!
Kellogg's Lasering Its Logo on Corn Flakes to Protect Against Imitators {Switched}
Oct 14th 2009 8:02PM This looks like a public relations boner! I haven't seen one positive comment. And this one won't be positive either. What paranoid overpaid executive coughed up this lung cookie of an idea? It proves nothing and has to add substantially to the cost of production. Moronic, stupid, idiotic, etc., etc. There are hardly words to describe what an awful idea this is.
American Apparel Ad Banned in the UK for Potentially Sexualizing a Model Who 'Appears to Be a Child' {Stylelist}
Sep 7th 2009 11:14PM I agree. No wonder we're considered heathens in some parts of the world. They could advertise their clothes without the adolescent sex angle.
Top 3 Careers to Avoid: According to 150 HR Execs {AOL Jobs}
Sep 7th 2009 10:53PM I'm really surprised the HR execs said stay out of HR. With their fingers into everything from accounting to zebra stripes (OSHA safety regs), it would seem HR would be constantly expanding. But I have seen those self serve stations where workers are able to make their own payroll changes, evaluations, training records and the like. I guess the automation handwriting is on the wall for HR too or that function goes overseas and you'll talk to someone in Bombay to make changes.

Sep 7th 2009 10:45PM I wholeheartedly agree with Pete in post #5. Posts 1 through 4 and #7 are just blatant advertisements posing as regular comments. The Avon representative at #15 is real close but at least she's honest about it. I hope the moderator of this section deletes those posts.
Age cutoffs for having babies? {ParentDish}
Aug 24th 2006 11:45PM Obviously many factors go into a decision to have a child: health of the Mother-To-Be, ability to care for child mentally, physicall, financially, stability of the family, etc. In this decision the child should not be ignored. Children can run mothers in their 30's ragged, how can a person who is 60 hope to cope. Children want to share their experience; will 60+ year old Mom be able to ride that roller coaster? How about participate in the parent/child race at school, stay up at night helping with homework. Having a child is not a "I want a child" decision; it should be a "we" decision that includes the future child's point of view.
