Charlie Rangel Steps Down as Ways and Means Chairman {Politics Daily}

Mar 3rd 2010 11:56AM President Obama has enough of a hard time cleaning up the economic situation we are all in. It seems to me by the time they get rid of every corrupt politician, Governors ,Captains of the Police my goodness who will be left? Everytime I read a newspaper this ones stepping down, that ones stepping down but where is the criminal investigation and where are the Charges that should be brought against these people? Stepping down seems like a polite way to gift wrap the package for not only breaking the law but for pure self greed obtained by all. Why dont the laws apply to these people as they would common criminals? Most people are charged, arrested and held accountable. All I see is a group of so called superior beings with a title who have misrepresented themselves, lied to the American people, defrauded the people and the government and they simply get a finger pointed at them and slightly scolded by resigning instead of being ousted out of office in handcuffs. Doesnt the law apply to all? At this rate our President is surrounded by nothing more than common criminals. No wonder Washington is a mess and not a darned thing gets done. Get rid of everyone of them and start applying the law as you would to the common person. No one stupid . We are all sitting here watching a banner of criminal activity take place and a mild slap on the wrist is suppose to be acceptable punishment???? Your all nuts in Washington. You cant govern your own let alone the American people as far as Im concerned. Its seems in this day and age a major requirement to become a politician and have a seat in office is to be a born liar, and extortionist, to have no morals or scrupples and smile in the cameras while your stealing millions or stepping out of your marriage! Nice roll models Washington! We all want our children to grow up and become Scum Extraordinaires like so many of you!

The New Mortgage Revolution: Walk Away {Housingwatch}

Feb 23rd 2010 9:23PM A NEW ARTICLE FOR HOMEOWNERS TO READ!! Hopefully we will get help ....

In his latest effort to stop the foreclosure tidal wave, President Obama, flanked by Nevada Senator Harry Reid (D), on Friday announced a Plan B for five states hardest hit by the housing crisis: Nevada, Florida, Michigan, California, and Arizona. The president is directing an additional $1.5 billion in aid to the states, which they can spend as they choose.

It's small change compared to the $50 billion the feds have committed so far to the Home Affordable Modification Program, but don't be deceived. This could be the first baby step toward real help for homeowners – if the states play their cards right.
"This fund is going to help out-of-work homeowners avoid preventable foreclosures," the president promised a Vegas audience. "And it will help homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth find a way to pay their mortgages that works for both the borrowers and the lenders alike, and will help folks who've taken out a second mortgage modify their loans."

In the five states receiving the aid, home prices have plummeted more than 20 percent since their real estate markets' peak, leaving homeowners especially vulnerable to foreclosure. When borrowers owe more than their homes are worth, their options become limited – it's not possible to sell or refinance – and the temptation to walk away grows.

These states were also hotbeds of speculative overbuilding during the boom.

A large number of borrowers in these states, especially California, also have the home lending equivalent of herpes: a second mortgage on top of the main one, which they typically used to reduce or even eliminate the down payment. When those homeowners apply for a loan modification, even if their lender is willing to reduce the amount of principal they owe it's legally not allowed to unless the second lender either agrees to it (rarely) or disappears from the picture.

Each state's housing finance agency will devise its own plan for the money, suited to local conditions. So Michigan, with 14 percent unemployment, would do well to provide temporary aid to out-of-work homeowners. California, meanwhile, ought to do something the feds haven't been willing to until now: aim and fire at second mortgages. Once second mortgages are out of the picture, many more borrowers in these states will be able to get a loan modification, and the reduction in their debt will make it much more likely they'll hold onto their home in the long term.

Let's be honest – $1.5 billion not a lot compared to the number of homeowners in trouble in these states or what it will cost to make second mortgage investors go away. Every month in California, close to 30,000 borrowers get the first notice that they're heading toward foreclosure, and nearly 200,000 homeowners there have been okayed for Treasury's loan modification program. Treasury – not to mention Elizabeth Warren's Congressional TARP Oversight Panel -- will have to watch to make sure the states spend the money wisely.

But let's say the states get some second mortgages to disappear, homeowners get serious reductions in what they owe, and they can hold on to their homes. Let's also assume the banks that hold the second mortgages don't implode from the losses. This little experiment could finally convince all the naysayers out there, in Treasury and at the banks, that giving homeowners a real break at long last is something that's in the entire nation's best interest.

At Last: Some Real Aid for Struggling Homeowners {Housingwatch}

Feb 23rd 2010 9:02PM I hope and pray this is true. I speak as a homeowner whose property in Port St Lucie is so upside down that for 2 years we have been fighting , struggling just to be heard. Unemployment is at an all time high in this area and with the boom our property once appraised at $230,000 isnt worth $150,000 and my taxes and hurricane insurance are through the roof. The Banks are not lending, the new breed of cocker roaches and scam artists claiming to obtain loan modifications is astronomical and evry lowlife alive wants $2,500.00 with no guarentee of a loan modification. Customer service with Wells Fargo is a joke and I pray with all my heart the President will hear the voice of the people and help us hold on to our homes that we worked so hard for. Families are becomming displaced refugees and it seems hope is GLIM. Please Mr. President help the homeowners. We are buried and are losing everything. I watch families sell everything they can just to keep their utilities on and some neighbors share utilities by running extension cords from home to home. The problems the real people of America especially in Florida are not published, nor do they state the real numbers of all the hard working families who are now unemployed and are about to lose everything.People want to live up to their responsibilities but with unemployment at its highest people literally have now where to turn. I read 7 newspapers a day looking for answers, trying to figure out if theres a new program I can apply for. The bottom line is any homeowner looking to save their home is absolutely DESPERATE and OverWhelmed with grief!!! We welcome any real help we can get!!!!!

The Coming Foreclosure Flood {Housingwatch}

You stated that Wells Fargo is outsourcing to India which is a fact that cannot be disputed as well as the majority of Banks accross America. Outsourcing is our Major problem in America and if you look at the situation 95% of American jobs are being outsourced for lower salaries, and to avoid paying the American worker benefits etc. I too worked for a bank HSBC and they are also guilty of outsourcing and closing departments on the drop of a dime escorting 5 and 10 year employees to the door under the pretense of a meeting , so there would not be a scuffle and security followed. Their desk items were then sent to them. Nice practice dont you think? I find the Banking system of America to be the most corrupt business I have ever seen. But what I do not understand is why no one is pressing them or why we cant overide or ammend laws to force them into functioning in a positive manner with the American homeowners and small businesses. Soon a great majority of Americans will be foreclosed on and become displaced refugees. Why would they want to sell a home for peanuts if they only could modify the loans where people could meet their obligations and then in turn they would make their money if not more. This quick flip of real estate and throwing people out in the streets is overwhelming. Why not work with the homeowner???

The Coming Foreclosure Flood {Housingwatch}

Feb 18th 2010 2:38PM I agree with you immenseley. My husband and I went through the same thing where even partial payments were unacceptable. In fact we went as far as to give Wells Fargo our last $8,000.00 which we were told would insure our loan modification. Guess what? It was pure BULL!!!! Then with Floridas terrible employment situation especially in the Port St Lucie area we were devastated. The bank kept lying to us telling our home was being sold in two weeks which never happened until we got so sick inside , unable to sleep and afraid of being ousted by Marshals we packed up and came into NY. We have found employment but our home still sits and has been vandalized time and time again. Still no effort on the Banks part to modify the loan and allow us to live up to our obligation which is something we would love to do. Its so crazy. We just sent in another letter and one to the President discussing all this in hopes of accomplishing some type of arrangement for our home is everything we worked for. I feel for everyone out there and I know what each of you is going through. Its absolutely horrible.If I would have known that they would screw my family over after sending in the $8,000.00 I would have never given them one red copper penny. Their liars and extortionists. I believe that there are alot of people out there who if given the chance would do anything to keep their homes but its useless with the Banks. I advise all of you do not send them one penny in good faith!!! Get an attorney and have it put into writting. They got me real good, but nless they work out something---Take the god darned house . Its only concrete and sheet rock and I will not allow anyone to shake me down and and make our family so sick that you cant even sleep at night. Millions of Americans are walking away because of the Banks practices. Its absolutely disgusting.

The Coming Foreclosure Flood {Housingwatch}

Feb 18th 2010 2:16PM I have a home in Fl. once appraised at $230,000 now Im lucky if it comes in at $150,000 and thats stretching it. Florida is by far the worst hit. Employment is so bad people are literally renting out their homes in order to obtain first, last and security in order to get their families out or over state lines. The banks are doing nothing. They promise loan modifictaions asking you to show good faith by sending in x amount of dollars only to suck the last dollar out of you and continue foreclosure. Its a mess down there.
However Florida isnt the only place suffering. Due to OUTSOURCING a topic that not one politician, not one Senator, not one Corporate head honch addresses there is absolutely no way the United States is going to stabalize itself. Outsourcing is our number one problem. Not health care. You wont need health care if your dead from not eating and putting a roof over your head. Kind of like the old discussion "The chicken and the Egg".. Get real!!! Employment is need in the US first in order for Americans to have the option of working not only one job but perhaps two in order to get their families out of this mess. Its not Obamas fault for George Bush's 2 year term of mysery laid the groundwork for putting us in this catastofic state. It will take any new President not only 2 terms to stabalize us but an additional 8 years to clean it up.

The Banks are the biggest offenders. Instead of granting all homeowners a 2% interest rate and modifying all loans to help stabalize the American people they took Obamas money and then said screw you while packing their portfolios with inventory and real estate and put aside one heck of a cushion for the future in case they go belly up.Some Banks have more than 30 billion in reserve while screwing the American people on a day to day event.

The worst is yet to come with China pulling out, and with Europe euro now upside down or very close to it the world is scrounging and people point the finger at Obama who is not to blame. We need to stop outsourcing completely, fine all companies and corporations that do. Give American small businesses the tax relief they need while employing Americans, and last but not least get rid of the lobbyists who cause corruption and address the Banks which are literally holding the American people hostage. This is sick!!!!

Oprah's Oops Moment with Drew Brees {AOL TV}

Feb 16th 2010 6:20PM I highly doubt that Oprah Winfrey went out of her way to be insulting, disrespectful or insensitive! This woman has done so much for humanity time and time again, that lets face it ---its just not her nature to be unkind or anything like that. Get over it people! It was an honest mistake that shouldnt even be discussed. Ive met her and shes the kindest, most polite caring individual always smiling and always kind. Her heart is so big and she never ever stops thinking of others or procrastinates to donate or do something for others less fortunate. Shes an icon and and has done more for humanity than a hundred people combined.

Kanye West Makes A High-Fashion Comeback {BV on Style}

Jan 28th 2010 11:32AM I wear fur and I love it. However I do not agree with some of the tactics used in obtaining fur. I have bought multiple fur coats at estate sales and each is more beautiful than the other. I recognize PETA'S position on cruelty to animals and skinning them alive. And I applaud them for standing up and fighting for the protection of animals. I also agree though that like eating beef, chicken or fish, their are humane ways of obtaining such things. I believe in the constitution and I feel if this couple is comfortable wearing fur ---God Bless. You look Marvelous!!!!!!
