Nov 14th 2009 1:52PM Showing pets may or may not cause shorter life spans, but breeding them sure does. I've worked with an animal rescue group for 10 years after working on my own to rescue cats/dogs for many years prior to that. I'm not saying there aren't responsible breeders out there, BUT in my experience, they are few and far between. Just because someone pays top dollar for a pure breed, doesn't mean that animal will get the care and attention it needs and deserves. We see many pure breeds that are abandoned to a shelter/pound or otherwise, every year. Please spay and neuter your animals. Get financial help if you can. Also, if you do breed, give the mothers a short breeding cycle. Unless, of course, you are just in it for the money.

Nobody is stopping him from earning a living. I, for one, do not want any of the money I spend to go to him or his sponsors. That's MY decision.

His mother mouthed off to anyone that would listen that they were trying to take away Vick's career. Guess what lady, he has his health and his youth and his life. That's more than he left behind for those poor animals. And before anyone asks, no, I'm not a bleeding heart tree hugger. I do love animals, though. This man is poison to any team out there. He does have a right to a second chance. That doesn't mean it has to be in the NFL making big money. And to think he was the good brother. LOL Finally, the NFL has shown some class.

Jul 28th 2009 6:31PM I am Catholic. I think people shouldn't judge this nurse for giving into the pressure. We don't know her situation. Times are tough. Maybe she is helping to support a family or supporting a family on her own. She obviously doesn't want it to happen again, thus the lawsuit. I also don't believe in frivolous litagation. But, they were trying to make an example of her. They could have given someone else the task that didn't have an objection.

Let's give him a chance folks. It's going to be a hard road. At least we have someone trying to implement new ideas. For all their blustering, the Republicans haven't given any solid ideas.
