'Will Marry for Health Insurance' -- One Woman's Desperate Quest {Lemondrop}

Feb 9th 2010 8:54AM It's illegal to marry someone just to become a citizen. But, there's no laws saying you can't marry just to get health insurance. She may be doing this on a grand scale, but I am friends or acquaintances with at least 3 couples who have done the same thing in the past.

Lesbian Teen Banned From Yearbook {Lemondrop}

Oct 20th 2009 3:24PM You're right, Nancy! God doesn't make mistakes. He has chosen special people to bear the burden of being a hermaphrodite, just like he chose a select group to experience the hardships of life through the bigotry and closemindedness of people such as yourself. How can you claim that homosexuality is a choice, anymore than someone born with the reproduction organs of both sexes? Why is it okay for hermaphrodites to choose their own sexual identity later in life due to the multiple genitalia or reproduction organs, but others have to be bound by the one set of organs that beat out the other in our fouled up gene pools?

Gratuity Proves Tipping Point for Notre Dame Employee {Fanhouse Backporch}

Sep 16th 2009 3:48PM So, if they had accidentally typed $2.97 instead, then she should just deal with it because that's what was entered on her paycheck? The door swings both ways, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Gratuity Proves Tipping Point for Notre Dame Employee {Fanhouse Backporch}

Sep 16th 2009 3:46PM I agree! My husband received a VERY nice bonus in his check that he wasn't expecting. Come to find out, a VP or executive in another part of the country was owed that bonus, and they had similar names. Did we need the money? YES! Did we track people down to listen and fix it? OH YEAH! If not, they would have figured it out sooner or later.

She's just hoping putting a sad face out in the news will make people feel sorry and assume that the corporation deserves to take the hit.

Who was watching Applebee's Weight Watcher meals? {WalletPop}

Jul 27th 2009 3:01PM Great point, Diane. These supposed healthy offerings are based upon marketing and popularity. It doesn't say much for a restaurant that does it half-heartedly for their bottom line instead of out of concern for what their customers want and need. I almost feel bad for people in New York, where the restaurants are forced to provide the information. Makes you truly wonder about the accuracy of it.

Who was watching Applebee's Weight Watcher meals? {WalletPop}

Jul 27th 2009 2:58PM Now see, here's where part of the problem is. You said "stay at home or be careful what you order." Weight Watchers is a reputable company. If Applebee's and Weight Watchers are endorsing this meal to be 200 calories, or whatever, then people think they're being "safe" by ordering it. Now, how often does someone eat at Applebee's, relying on that calorie count, who's to say. But if Subway had been wrong, you can bet Jared would have been ticked off to find out the subs he ate every single day were 400 calories more than he planned on. Is this a worthy class action lawsuit? NO. But people have the right to be angry and hurt that the good choices they thought they were making were based upon bad information.

Couple Marries, Divorces on Same Day {Lemondrop}

Jun 29th 2009 10:24AM You'd be surprised how many kids really don't care how many mommies and daddies their friends have. In addition, based upon the numbers of divorces we have amongst heterosexuals in our country, many kids ALREADY have two mommies and two daddies.
