The Mortgage Fix That Can Save the Economy {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 26th 2011 11:24AM Good luck with Obama's HAMP - I tried to do it, was honest and supposedly qualified - try to find a bank that wants anything to do with it!!! All the banks I talked to said "what's HAMP, never heard of it" - or "we don't do that".
I tried 3x to do a "regular" refinance. Each time, the appraiser assigned by THEIR broker) came back low balling me (they said house and 3 acres only worth $100K = but of course the local gov't. assessed me at $143K). I think the banks tell the appraisers to lowball anything that they can't sell for big $$ in case owner would bail due to something in future. Bunch of ripoff artists!
One in Five Late to Work Every Week, Lame Excuses Given {AOL Jobs}
Feb 25th 2011 7:36PM Try telling your boss your dog whacked you in the face with a big hard rawhide bone! I know he thought I got into a fight with somebody, but it was true - I bent down to pick something up and my Doberman grabbed his rawhide and started whipping it back and forth at the same time- thought I broke my nose and ended up with 2 black eyes besides!
Kelty Gunnison 2.1 tent giveaway {Gadling}
Aug 31st 2010 12:10PM My favorite place - my backyard. I have 3 dogs and can't afford to do much camping - especially to include the 3 of them - so I set up camp in the backyard and we pretend we are some where else. They love the whole thing - especially peeking out of the tent at all the passersby!
New law targets latest health menace -- and it's in your living room {WalletPop}
Jul 20th 2010 10:41AM Why are we worried about a little formaldehyde in a chair - last time I looked, I am pretty sure I saw that and a few other carcinogens in the shampoo/conditioners on the shelves. Does he really think sitting your butt in a chair containing formaldehyde is more worrisome than the stuff you are pouring on your head and basically into your brain cells?? I agree with others - stop worrying about the little crap and get down to fixing the important stuff. Put a damned tag on the furniture that says what it contains and leave it to me to decide what i want to contend with and what I don't.
Tiny Horse Gets Big Reaction -- And Maybe A World Record {Pawnation OLD}
Apr 27th 2010 3:26PM They can also bite and kick with alot of power even though they are small and have they all the same instincts that regular horses have, (like flight vs fight), so don't think about them as a "pet" for small children - they can and will hurt without any thought or malice. They can also have a lot of health problems from their lack of size, inbreeding, etc.
Please do your homework before you jump in and buy one - they can end up at the slaughter house just as easily as the large ones. In many places, even though they are small - they are still considered livestock and can't be kept in a back yard.
'Will an Insurance Mandate Affect Me?' and More Readers' Questions Answered {Politics Daily}
Apr 6th 2010 12:45PM If I have to pay for health insurance - does that mean they are going to cover everything I need, regardless of cost?? I don't think so! They're going to make me pay a ton but give me the short stick on coverage - this won't be included, that won't be included, this will but only after you go through 10 different lesser procedures 1st (as in putting you on drugs in the hopes it will unclog your arteries before your failing heart gives out.) Such BS
Massucci's Take: EBay's plan to be more retailer than auctioneer is one risky bid {Daily Finance}
Nov 16th 2009 7:58PM I also have been on eBay for over 10 yrs. - 5000+ feedbacks and (was) a Bronze Power Seller. I have basically quit selling because of the "new way" on eBay. Now I only sell only odd items occasionally. I hate the "new" bidders that eBay is cultivating - all Flea market "want it for pennies" even though I know it's worth 100 times those pennies.
I'm also tired of getting my Seller Ratings knocked down because I shipped it the day after $$ received but it took their local PO 7 days to get it there. And the threats - "lower your shipping rates or I will complain to eBay that you are charging too much" This from a witch that won 20 of my auctions and expected me to put approx. 35 yrds. of fabric in a Med. 1 Rate box - that normally only holds maybe 10 yrds. I lost my butt on all the fees - she didn't have to pay up, didn't get kicked off, etc. I got the option of relisting all the auctions - "if they sell the 2nd time, we'll only charge you 1 listing fee" (after they've already gotten the ending fees and would get another set of ending fees. What a crock!!
EBAY SUCKS!!! Sorry to say it, but I can't wait to see them BOMB. Was a good thing and could still be if they'd get their head out of their nether regions.
Colin Powell: Skip Gates Could Have Avoided Arrest {Politics Daily}
Jul 29th 2009 7:43AM Powell finally approached the counter and asked about the meeting, to which the airport official responded, "Oh, YOU'RE General Powell." Powell recounts to King that "it was inconceivable to him that a black guy could be the national security adviser."
Could somebody please explain to me where the racial part came in this statement??? If that had been a white man recounting it, it would have been a joke - but he ASSUMED right away that it had to be because he was black -not perhaps becuase they were looking for someone in a uniform (and he probably was in a suit). Yes, racial issues will continue because BOTH SIDES ARE GUILTY OF KEEPING IT ALIVE!!!
A bit of good news for eBay {BloggingStocks}
Nov 9th 2006 12:04PM Truthseeker - Don't even bother looking into investing in eBay. I have sold and bought there for over 5 yrs. and let me tell you - as a seller, I am ready to ditch it because nobody is buying - why? Because it costs too much just to list an item, shipping is high and you have to deal with eBay and it's draconian attitude. For example - if an overseas buyer with 2 feedbacks says they didn't get something within 1 wk. of payment - their word is better than a seller with 5000+ good feedback - so refund ALL the $$ no questions asked. Doesn't matter that customs causes stuff to be delayed several weeks sometimes - buyer is right, so seller pays the piper with no recourse.
As a buyer - I don't buy much on there anymore - again because it's too expensive, and too many crooked sellers. Most of the sellers with the "neat one of a kind" items are gone, and what's left is the cheap overseas "tourist crap".
Then there's Paypal - again, expensive, worthless, and frustrating for both buyer and seller. Was great when original owners had it - now that eBay has it - piece of trash!
Ebay: standards, perceptions, and responsibility {BloggingStocks}
Nov 9th 2006 11:45AM Try being a seller on eBay - if you so much as use 3 words that are in another auction, yours gets pulled without notice, and no recourse. I bought a dog door recently on ebay - wrong size - so I tried to resell it. I made the mistake of using the words "high-impact polystyrene" and dog door won't sway in the wind" - my auction was pulled because another auction was using those words. Basically what it boils down to - the other auction was from a dealer that keeps an open store, where I was just a nobody. So, if you are a big dealer, they will work with you - if you aren't - forget it!
