Is Getting 'Roofied' Just Another Urban Legend? {Lemondrop}
Jun 18th 2009 3:30PM Being roofied isn't a joke, and it does happen. And a lot of these stories are probably false. I was in a classic situation, I was young and offered a drink at a college bar. I experienced dizzy spells and had to sit down after about 20 minutes. I then went outside for a smoke and some fresh air, I just felt very strange, it had not occurred to me that the drink could have been drugged. My roommate found me sitting outside making out with the guy who had offered me the drink inside, which she had seen from the dance floor. She suspected what was going on, and took me home. I don't remember anything from that point on, but I had been texting while I was at the bar, and had invited several friends over to hang out after I got home from the bar. They were waiting there when we got home, and the next morning told me all about how I was sitting on the couch with them, awake, but not myself. They were putting my finger in my nose and silly things like that, but in reality it is scary how I did not comprehend it as they were doing it. I am so lucky my night ended safely, and feel comfortable sharing this story with others, especially young girls that like to go out drinking! I actually ended up seeing the guy at a bar a couple weeks ago, with a girl it looked like he was in a relationship with. It was karaoke night, and I had thought he looked familiar, but when I heard his unique name called, I knew it was him. I debated calling him out, but felt compassion towards him. Its also important for people to know that we are all human and make mistakes, and he had definitely changed from the night I met him years ago. The moral of this story is don't get involved with illegal drugs of this negative nature, and be careful and watch out for others!
