Dec 1st 2011 2:54PM I do feel bad for them. Wrong decision or not. But...I would have fought tooth and nail if I knew I was in the right. I would have taught my children how to stick up for themselves if they are ever treated unfairly and taken advantage of. It's true that the ordeal they have faced since leaving their home, and what they are going through now is more stressful on everyone, than if they had just stuck it out. Parents fail to realize that children are far more resilient than they are credited for. Just because they are children, it doesn't make them weak. If they stayed and fought, they would have had a home to stay at. And even if they lost, at least they stuck to their guns. Children see everything around them. The question is, do you give them something positive like sticking up for themselves and those they love, or negative by giving up when the tough get going and dragging them out of your home for a year.
But as someone else said here, let's not forget who truly is to blame. F'n banks. I just watched this documentary called Thrive. Very enlightening for the most part. I recommend people watch it.

Aug 30th 2011 12:41PM Great job. But I'm wondering how he's getting around all the by-laws; construction permit, zoning, safety inspection? And where will he be allowed to "park" the his house without having to pay property tax or space fees. Government and municipal officials just make it difficult for people these days, especially during difficult times. I hope this works out for him.

Aug 9th 2011 11:56AM @Jax: If you clean your toilet bowl on a regular basis, it has no more germs than your bathtub or sink. The same water used in your toilet is the same water you shower and brush your teeth with. Not saying you should drink toilet water, but just pointing out that toilets aren't as germ ridden as most people think. There is actually more germs on doorknobs than there is around a toilet bowl. I wouldn't wash my feet in a toilet bowl though. If you slip, there's a good chance you can get your foot stuck in the drainage.

Aug 9th 2011 11:48AM Personally, flip flops are meant for the beach or the pool. Sandals are borderline, depending on the type. The more open areas, the worse it is. Walking around town with toes exposed is asking for trouble. I can't begin to count how many times I've seen people (men and women), stub their toes, cut them, even ripping toe nails off. Dirty feet are so unattractive. I've seen beautiful women walking along, or sitting at a cafe, I look at their feet and see dirt around their toes, and as the author says soles as dark as asphalt. And it makes me cringe a little. People who like to wear flip flops or sandals, should always carry band-aid, polysporin, and wet naps. It doesn't take a lot for infection to set in should you get even a small cut.

Jul 18th 2011 1:34PM @laiconna: they didn't take the picture. some nosey person on the beach did. never assume anything even if it's a picture. pictures can be completely misleading taken in the wrong context. And in this context, people are thinking pervertedly. To me, its a mother and son, who have a very close connection. Nothing sexual in nature at all. I know plenty of friends who show great affection to their mothers (or fathers for that matter). They even give kisses on the lips (NOT open mouth, tongue in kisses). Even as far as cuddling on the couch. It's a nurturing thing. I give kisses to female friends on the lips, doesn't meant anything but friendly affection. And no, the pics don't show them kissing on the lips. They are kissing each others cheeks. In other cultures, its customary for men to kiss each other on the lips to show respect and friendship on greetings. Does that make them gay? People need to get their heads out of the gutter. And find out the truth before making accusations and passing judgement.

And you more than likely didn't have a good relationship with your mother. Whether she's a hot 41 year old, or an aging 75 year old, affection is affection between child and mother. Also considering that they don't live together, and they only see each other so often. What mother wouldn't miss their child and shower them with affection. It's innocent.

He needs to stop with the "jailbait", find himself an older, mature, and REAL woman (not girls). If he wants happiness in the last remaining years, he needs to stop being a "playboy", and start acting his age. No disrespect intended bro, but that simple and plain truth of it. No matter the age, you get what you put forth in life. In all aspects of it.
