Is Oprah Winfrey Helping or Using Sarah Ferguson? {PopEater}
Jun 15th 2011 3:58PM I also don't think Oprah did Shania Twain any favors with that show on her network. Instead of "Why Not?" it should have been, "Whine NOT!". And I love Shania, too. Honestly, what are these women thinking?? Can NO ONE say "no" to Oprah? Is it a law that you aren't allowed to think for yourself if Oprah suggests you do something?
Iowa School Principal Delivers Birthday Spankings to Students {ParentDish}
May 28th 2011 10:36AM Yeah, you make an effort to teach your kids that hitting people (with or without objects) is WRONG and this dip brain goes ahead and hits them with a hockey stick (padded or not isn't the issue). And, mind you, the principal was doing this WITHOUT the parents' knowledge. Parents did not okay this behavior. It's no wonder so many kids lack good judgment these days---look at what's in charge.
Victoria Beckham Admits to Implant Removal {PopEater}
Jan 6th 2011 4:27PM She looks really good sans implants and I think she'll make her styles look even more fabulous than she all ready does. I agree that she should smile more though. I don't know if she's insecure deep down or what, but she looks even prettier still when she smiles. She has a lot to be happy about.
Interview With a Witch Mom {ParentDish}
Sep 22nd 2010 10:19AM And to all you Christians, you should remember that when or if your "Satan" really DOES come to call, he will do so in a way that wins you over. He will look and dress like you, he will spout the things you want to hear. Because this is what a true con artist does to pull you in. You will be so worried about the people that, in YOUR opinion, do not "fit in" that you will be completely oblivious to the true evil sitting right next to you.
I don't believe that the bible-thumping Christians on this board TRULY care about the souls of others, I feel they want to smugly throw their book in others' faces. They treat it as if it was a sporting event and they're on the right team and everyone else is on the wrong one. That is NOT what Jesus stood for.
Interview With a Witch Mom {ParentDish}
Sep 22nd 2010 10:05AM Uh...Quesadilla....are you gay? If not, then how do YOU know that gay couples are "damaging" their children? You stated that you didn't feel Ms. Kunning could possibly know what the "average" person would be thinking, so I'm just wondering how YOU know so much about gay parenting.
And instead of using the term "average" person, I feel a better question would have been "How do most NON-Wiccans define the word witch?". And she would definitely know that because people that she meets on a day-to-day basis will tell her of their pre-conceived notions and how they are surprised to find she is just a very nice, "regular" person.
Interview With a Witch Mom {ParentDish}
Sep 22nd 2010 9:57AM I am not misinformed. Yes, we learn from reading, but I have yet to meet a Christian who can answer a question in layman's terms (without spouting the words belonging to someone else from the bible). The Wiccan religion is not just about religion. It's a lifestyle. Wiccans were "green" before it was "cool"; they believe in living in harmony with nature and the universe. Christians burn incense and light candles. That's exactly what the pagans do and did before there was Christianity. Christians pray and believe in "angels". Wiccans meditate and chant and believe in "spirits". CJ was correct regarding the teachings of Jesus. He held no contempt or animosity toward anyone, especially those who were "different" from him. But, Christians today want to use their religion to feel superior and to call others names, condemn them and deny them their rights. They spread hate and bigotry while hiding behind the word of the "bible". CJ was also correct in the interpretations of the bible. NO ONE knows the original text from that book (unless, perhaps, you are a scholar of the bible) because it has been re-translated and re-interpreted so many times...well....it's like a piece of gossip going around town. "Sally went down to the store and bought a DVD." becomes "Sally came down with an STD." by the time it reaches the last person on the totem pole. I have no problem at all with Christians per se, I just have a problem with self-righteous people who want to deny others their freedom of religion. And don't forget, Jesus was a Jew. Do you also have a problem with Jewish people because they do not accept Jesus as their savior?
Interview With a Witch Mom {ParentDish}
Sep 21st 2010 4:44PM And Scarlett O'Hara said: "Tomorrow is another day...". There are also some people who haven't read Gone With The Wind yet. That's why I've posted that quote.
Beware fanatics of ANY religion, for these are the people who have lost their ability to reason and use common sense. They are people who can never give a straight answer to questions posed to them and can only recite somethng they've memorized from a book, as if that is somehow PROOF that they're right. It isn't. And any of you who claim to have been reading up on the Wiccan religion must have also seen the Wiccan Rede, where the main emphasis above all else is "Harm none", including the self. They believe that what you do to others comes back on you threefold. No Christians ever seem to emphasize this FACT. And do you "Christians" not wonder why all Christian holidays fall suspiciously close to or ON Pagan holidays? In the dawn of Christianity, they needed a way to convert the uneducated country people to their way of thinking so they could grab land and money for the church and what better way to do it than keep the celebrations close to what the people were already accustomed to. They took the Horned God, a main deity (along with the Goddess) of pagan religions and turned him into Satan. Christianity is NOT the only path to enlightenment. It is very narrow minded and ignorant to hold this view. As for the covens that DO engage in nefarious acts or behavior, they are NOT true Wiccans and no Wiccan would condone what they're doing. Do you Christians condone the child molesting priests or the people who commit murder on Jesus' behalf? If you do, then that doesn't say much for YOUR religion. And let's not forget the violence and bloodshed that laid much of the foundation of Christianity. The Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials....
Interview With a Witch Mom {ParentDish}
Sep 21st 2010 10:47AM Hey, Steve: For one thing, God didn't "make up the rules". A group of mortal MEN made up the so-called "rules", if you're speaking of the stories in the bible. (I deliberately refrain from capitalizing the "b".) And they did this as a way to CONTROL the masses. Neither Jesus nor God sat down, brainstormed and came up with "guidelines".
As for Christine O"Donnell's remarks that she dabbled in witchcraft, I believe she was mistaken. She mentioned visiting a "satanic altar" and as any person educated in religion knows, Wiccans do not even acknowledge the existence of "Satan" or "the Devil". He's an invention of the Christian religions. Witches don't believe in nor do they worship Satan. Period. Apparently, Christine O'Donnell meant to say she dabbled in "Satanism".
By the way, Steve, it's so very "Christian" of you to automatically label someone as a "freak" simply because their beliefs and religion differs from your own. What happened to that axiom, "Judge not, lest YE be judged"? Those wacky Christians always seem to have a real problem with that one.
Hollywood's Hottest Spring Haircut -- Could You Pull Off a Pixie Cut? {Lemondrop}
Apr 5th 2010 5:55PM First of all, I love how people (mostly men) think the worst thing you could possibly call someone is a homosexual of either gender. Right. That's the WORST possible thing you could be, rather than say---a cheat, a liar, a serial killer perhaps, or an ignorant, arrogant FOOL, (like the insulting commenters must be).
I love pixie cuts, but to pull them off, you have to have small, fine features and be petite in stature. Mind you, this is just a general rule; there are some women who pull it off and have neither of those characteristics. It takes a lot of guts, especially in THIS society, to wear this look and I commend them for it. There is no more stunningly beautiful woman on TV right now than the actress who plays the alien, Anna, on "V". She ROCKS the pixie cut.
As for the remark by one commenter, who said that people are afraid to speak up and the "uglies" think they're right? I don't find that to be true at all. The REAL uglies never fail to open their fat yaps and demonstrate their ignorance to the world, particularly in anonymous situations such as these message boards. Perhaps your long hair is smothering some brain cells.
Eight Worst Things to Say in an Interview {AOL Jobs}
Nov 1st 2009 2:00PM I have to agree with your opinion, BluSu. Holding so many jobs in such a short amount of time would actually be a red flag to most prospective employers. (If you are THAT great an employee and so integral to the day-to-day operations, a company will usually do what it has to to KEEP you.) And my goddaughter is in college at present and there is NO WAY she could hold two FULL-time jobs plus a PART-time job and still be juggling a full class load. (Unless this person majored in basket-weaving, perhaps.) After all, there are only so many hours in the week.
And I'm a member of the spelling/grammar police myself, even though I am NOT a teacher. :)
