Jun 24th 2010 7:41PM I was at one time with the U.S. Army Rangers carrying out certain secret wartime missions. In the planning phases, we identified the tactics and the materials required to effectivelly carry out the missions, as well as the committment of the higher-ups to provide these materials. If the higher-ups subsequenbtly failed to provide any of the materials required, we would have failed and perhaps died. I believe that this is what happened to Gen. McChrystal. Because of the general's firing, many soldiers are likely to die. "Hey, that guy is coming to kill me. Should I kill him first? No, you have to get permission from the chain of command -- up to Obama." I suppose I am fortunate because my unit was assigned to the CIA, which was operating outside of the chain of command and we had all the materials needed to carry out the missions.

Now a professor of mamagement, I give Obama a D- for his leadership and management skills. This might be because Obama's notion of a New America and World isn't quite clear to me.

The problam with Obama is that he is behaving as a Manager in situations where Leadership is required.
