Jan 31st 2010 1:06AM Yes, Nicole, women can do everything men can . . . just not as well.

Women's world record for the mile, 4:12. Boys' American high school record, 3:52.

Jan 30th 2010 10:42PM That's a deceptive comparison. Softball requires that you become accustomed to its unique release points and ball trajectory; thus, I wouldn't expect baseball players to hit a softball pitcher well any more than I'd expect softball players to be able to hit a baseball pitcher.

The only relevant comparison would be having the woman pitch to male SOFTBALL players. It's not that hard to understand.

Jan 30th 2010 10:38PM Elena,

You're little accusations of misogyny won't deter me; I know the game too well. As for terminology, more people consider me an intellectual (I enjoy minor fame) than will ever thus view you.

As for my claim, you obviously have trouble with reading comprehension. I wrote (now, actually read it this time), "Lastly, you should also know that the gap between the sexes in track and field has actually increased in most recent times, reversing the trend whereby it had been shrinking." Note that the operative words are "in most recent times." I know whereof I speak, as I've studied this issue and have written about it. Yes, when women started getting involved in sports, the gap started shrinking; however, the process then started to slow and then, even to my surprise, reversed itself. I would estimate that the reversal began around 1992.

I could explain why this pattern manifested itself, but if you apply a little logic, it won't be hard to figure out.

As for steroid use, yes, it impacts both sexes; however, it impacts women more. This is because men produce far more testosterone than women do; thus, proportionately speaking, women have more to gain through its use. At least that would be the explanation, assuming that the reversal of said improvement pattern is attributable to the elimination of steroids.

Of course, it's entirely possible that the explanation lies elsewhere. Nevertheless, the gap has started widening again, and your theory doesn't hold water.

Your problem is that you were victimized by a twisted upbringing. Our sick society conditioned you to believe that you can't be happy unless you do what men do. The problem you have — and you probably feel it on some level — is that you can't do what men do. Sorry, but you gals simply are not equals in the masculine realm.

You need to learn what it really should mean to be a woman and try to derive your happiness from the beauty inherent in that role.

Jan 30th 2010 9:12PM Elena,
The use of a $70 word (dimorphism) isn't impressive, and, no, it doesn't make you sound intelligent. I used to be a professional athlete, and I well know about the realities of being one. And you're living in a fantasy world if you think that the best female athletes in sports requiring a high degree of physicality will ever approach the men's level.
As for citing the women's versus the boys' records, I was illustrating how great the gap is between the sexes. Know that you can look at the boys' record from most any state (if not every one) and it will be better than the women's world record. The women will never compete successfully even with the top boys, never mind the top men.
Lastly, you should also know that the gap between the sexes in track and field has actually increased in most recent times, reversing the trend whereby it had been shrinking. This is most likely due to greater enforcement of rules prohibiting the use of steroids. (This should make a light bulb go off in your head, by the way. Why did female athletes take synthetic MALE HORMONES to enhance performance?)
Wise up.

Jan 30th 2010 8:18PM Well, your remarks could be exhibit A in the case for the intellectual inferiority of women. Do you really not understand the profound physiological between the sexes?

Here's a fact for you:women's world record for the mile, 4:12. Boys' American HIGH SCHOOL record, 3:52.

Jan 30th 2010 8:11PM Uh, Riggs was 55 years old.

Why are feminists so ignorant?

Oh, never mind. Rhetorical question.

Jan 30th 2010 7:59PM You're living in a fantasy world. The gap between the sexes in most sports is so large that the best women would never beat the best men in them. Again, women's world record for the mile, 4:12. Boys' American HIGH SCHOOL record, 3:52.

Educate yourself.

Chris Barnes: The Guy Who Lost to a Girl {Fanhouse Main}

Jan 30th 2010 7:57PM You have it backwards: It's that the best women cannot beat high-level men in sports.

Why are you women so insecure that you can't acknowledge the differences between the sexes? Ah, the smell of burning female ego.

Jan 30th 2010 7:39PM Uh, Bobby Riggs was 55 years old. Wise up.

Chris Barnes: The Guy Who Lost to a Girl {Fanhouse Main}

Jan 30th 2010 7:37PM Well, no, the best women do not beat the best men. And if you're wife beats you in wrestling, you should be ashamed of yourself. Although you sound like a fetishist.
