'The Biggest Loser' Star Jillian Michaels Adopting a Baby From the Congo {PopEater}
May 11th 2011 11:51AM Lets face it many folks want infants under a year old, especially in the US. White babies at 1 or younger have a very long waiting list. Also the standard of care for any child in the US is very high. I foreign countries children aren't treated as well as the USA Many are born into families with too many kids. If they are not perfect the parents might reject them due to the inability to pay for extensive medical care. They suffer so horribly in 3rd world countries many feel they are helping by giving the child love and a better life than it could have in their home country. Look at the number of babies in orphaniges and how they live in Russia, Africa, Vietnam etc... it is appauling.
Police Use Pepper Spray to Subdue 8-Year-Old at School {ParentDish}
Apr 6th 2011 3:42PM Why couldn't they just wrestle him to the floor, handcuff him, hobble him if necessary, and throw him into the back of the police car. Then Lock his butt in a jail cell for a while. Maybe at the end of the day or 2 he might see that he was way out of line!
Police Use Pepper Spray to Subdue 8-Year-Old at School {ParentDish}
Apr 6th 2011 3:34PM This child isn't the only one out of control, his mother needs some help as well. If a child ever tried to pull that crap on me or one of my kids his parents would be facing a civil suit as well as a criminal one. This little POS is nothing but a worthless child born of a mother who doesn't know how to parent. What happened to being embarrassed by you childs unruly behavior? Or holding him accountable for his behavior? AND this is his third time the police were called because of him. Lets put him in a juvenile detention center until he can become acceptable to society. Next thing you know he'll be killing animals & other kids "just to see what it feels like."
Father Alberto Cutié slams the Catholic Church {Celestrellas}
Jan 6th 2011 8:26AM This is one of the reasons I am a "fallen away" Roman Catholic. I saw this priests interview on GMA and found him very knowledgable, happy, a committed family man and priest. What a better combination can a church have?
Tips for Facing Infertility During the Holidays {ParentDish}
Dec 2nd 2010 9:34AM Although I am now beyond the child bearing years. I too suffered from years of infertility treatments, and surgery to correct a birth defect to my uterus.At 19 during my first marriage it was discovered that I had a bicornuate uterus. there was a tiny pinched off section with one tube & ovary, and the other was a somewhat smaller than normal size uterus with the other uterus and tube. The surgeon removed the itty bitty on with it's corresponding tube & ovary. This left me with one ovary, Fallopian tube, and a smaller than normal size uterus. From that point on I started taking clomid with the hope of boosting my chances of producing more eggs, I was also on the basal body temp. I also had several surgeries for more painful surgeries for ovarian cysts. I was told at 22 or 23 that I didn't have a very good chance of carrying a baby to term or even getting pregnant. My fallopian tube somehow became twisted and sat on top of my uterus, along with the ovary. My marriage ended as did my belief that I would become a mother.
Well needless to say I was very surprised to find out I was pregnant when I started dating my high school sweetheart. Unfortunately this pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. We married shortly thereafter, and in total I have had 5 live births and 4 miscarriages.
All of my babies were premature and I spent a lot of time on bed rest. But I would do it all over again. This all occured in the late 1970's-1990. Today fertility treatments have come a long way. I would enjoy the holidays for what they are and if you want to avoid babies or situations where the families will be surrounding the new members, go away. Take a small cruise, or a short vacation. Tou might be able to find some great deals. Who knows the baby may be conceived over the holiday season the normal unassisted way.
Travolta and Preston Gearing Up for 'Silent Birth' {PopEater}
Nov 16th 2010 8:26AM My first labor was long and very painful from the start in the end I had a c-section. I moaned groaned and screamed for 18 hours. I couldn't help it, labor is the worst pain a woman can go through. I was with my sister for the birth of her second child, she was brilliant, no moaning, groaning, or yelling, 3 pushes and the baby was out. Her total labor 1 hr and 45 min. Her next child was the same and he was over 9 lbs. so it all depends on the woman and her pain threshhold. But for someone to say you "have to be silent" and "can't talk to the baby for a week is a crock of s**t."
How I Hid My Pregnancy -- And Why I Decided to Come Clean {Lemondrop}
Nov 1st 2010 8:12AM In 1972 I had a really close friend that hid her pregnancy from her family right up to the night she gave birth all alone in the bathroom. Her parents woke up when they heard the baby cried. I don't know how they didn't see it, I did she definitely had a big belly. But it was not spoken about. We always went horse back riding, no problem. Goes to show you, how much someone is willing to do, not change her lifestyle at all. Her baby was healthy, she had an at home delivery before it was fashonable, and today that baby is a happy healthy adult. Her parents were behind her 100% once they got over the shock of their granddaughters birth.
