Family Faces Eviction Over Toddler's Noise {AOL Real Estate}

Feb 2nd 2012 10:58AM I have raised two boys. Yes, they can be noisey as toddlers but it is your job as a parent to teach them to respect boundaries and other people's sensibilities. There is no reason for anyone to run up or down stairs. There are other factors at play. Is the building poorly sound-proofed? Is the neighbor home all day just listening to every little thing? Are the kids penned up too much and have a need to be taken OUTSIDE to run off energy? This is all a matter of degree and the rest of us don';t know exactly how noisey it is. If things have risen to the point of eviction, I would guess the parents think they have no need to control their child.

Bernanke: Fed Should Help Turn Foreclosures Into Rentals {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 6th 2012 9:39AM The Feds have done enough damage to the housing market by forcing the banks to loan mortgage money to people who could not qualify under the usual circumstances and would never pay it back. Allowing people into a house with no money down was stupid and now we are ALL left holding the bag. Thanks to the idiot Congressman Barney Frank and those from massachusetts who voted for him for the mess. It would appear the feds can't do anything cheaply or competently. I suggest they butt OUT of the house rental business.

Obese passenger forces neighbor on US Airways flight to stand for 7 hours {Gadling}

Nov 23rd 2011 8:14PM The problem is two-fold. One, people in general are getting fatter, and many more are drifting into the Obese size range. Secondly, airline seats are too small for even NORMAL SIZE people. Its about time the airlines made seats which conform to reality, and then CHARGE for them, instead of treating people like baggage or sardines. In my opinion, airline reservations clerks and even travel web sites should be forced to ask every airline seat purchaser the question, "Do you weigh more than 230 pounds?" People that answer yes should be made to purchase a second seat. Anyone questionable showing up to board should either be weighed on the spot or refused boarding. These people are NOT entitled to take someone elses seat.

House of the Day: Breezy and Breathtaking in Malibu {AOL Real Estate}

Sep 6th 2011 11:10AM Breathtaking? I don't think so. The whole thing looks completely industrial, like some company's corporate offices. Not a hint of human warmth in the decor. Ugly.

Renaming Your Rescue Dog {Pawnation OLD}

Sep 3rd 2011 11:20PM There aren't severe enough penalities for those who abuse animals or abandon them to starvation. I am not talking about some $100 fine. Who is going to be deterred by that? I am saying there should be fines in the $5,000 range PLUS jail time for especially brutal cases. THAT would make some of these scum think before they injure an animal. I think people need to press their representatives in both the state and federal level to pass more strict laws regarding animal abuse. How we treat helpless animals is a reflection of our civilization as a whole.Neutering dogs and cats should also be mandatory and those who do not comply should face a significant fine as well. There is nothing intelligent about letting your animal breed so that the resulting pups and kittens starveto a slow painful death. And yes, male animals need to be neutered too.

Herman Cain Doesn't Want to be Called "African American" {BV Black Spin}

Jun 23rd 2011 10:07PM He did explain why... He prefers to just be called an American.Its all the identity he wants. Folks can call me "Italian American" if they want to.... but the last person in my family to come from Italy arrived here more than 100 years ago. I have no sense of identity with the term. No doubt he feels the same. Bravo to the man.Lets get off the labels.

Southwest Airlines suspends, reinstates pilot after profanity-laced rant {Gadling}

Jun 23rd 2011 9:18AM He was talking to his co-pilot, not "broadcasting" intentionally. Like it or not we still have free speech in the USA. I think he should be repremanded for tying up frequencies for other pilots,even though that was accidental but NOT for what he said. This is not the USSR. People have many opinions that others do not like. It does not mean they are not entitled to say what they think.

Oh, for Crying Out Loud, Shower Before You Go Swimming, Will Ya?! {ParentDish}

Jun 21st 2011 5:52PM Since most people shower at least once a day in my neighborhood, I feel this is not a disease bearing issue. HOWEVER, many folks now have non-toilet trained kids in the adult pools. Our town used to have a "kid only" pool, they were not allowed in with the aduilts, and that ended a few years ago for some mysterious reason. Bad idea. I once watched a three or four year old little girl stand at the edge of the pool and pee while her mom was busy chatting 20 feet away. When I told the mom in a pleasant manner she looked like she wanted to take my head off. Honey, that was YOUR problem, not mine!!! Possibly the most sensible thing would be to go back to the concept of "no diaper age kids in the pool". You can have a seperate drained sprinkler area for that group.

Judge to Mom: 'You Don't Spank Children' {ParentDish}

Jun 21st 2011 5:20PM I agree with those who say the judge is an idiot, unless there is more to the story. A spanking is not the same as child abuse, unless you are a liberal wacko.Unfortunately the kids know the score, which is why so many of them are out of control brats. The govt should mind its business unless there is a child endangerment issue.

Kelly Osbourne Puts Down Sick Dog, Noodles {PopEater}

Jun 16th 2011 8:25PM I am so sorry for Kelly. People get very attached to their animals. And they never betray you like people can. I had to put down my long time pet cat a few months ago....very difficult. Its always a sad thing to have to do. People with nothing helpful to say on this issue should leave Kelly alone.
