Your Guy Is Cheap -- But Should It Be a Dating Deal-Breaker? {Lemondrop}
Jun 2nd 2010 11:49PM @curtis
You sound bitter. FYI my husband is from India, from a very poor Indian family. He never had a lot of money, and I had a very independent life and career when I met him. I have never asked him to pay for one thing, he always spent the little money he had to treat me or make sure I was happy and fed, even when I protested or wanted to pay. He's simply a gentleman and has a lot of respect and love for me.
Because of his overwhelming kindness to me I respect him even more, and give him the final say in our decisions, and respect his opinion more than anyone else. That's part of the give and take of a loving relationship. It has nothing to do with money or demands. It's all about love and respect. If you ever found a woman you cared enough about to treat that way, you might understand. Peace.

Jun 1st 2010 1:27AM @Mike : I somewhat agree with your comment on equality and sexism. It's a bit hypocritical how women nowadays expect to be absolutely equal in every way, EXCEPT the man should pay for everything.
I do think a man should WANT to treat his lady and pay for dates. I also choose to submit to my husband when he wants to make a big purchase or decision (after giving him my opinion of course). Not because I'm unequal, but because I chose to make him my husband and my provider, I give him final say in our family decisions. It's not sexism, it's a choice. If you want equality and to have separate life choices, bank accounts, etc, then don't expect to be taken care of by your man. Sorry but you asked for it.

May 31st 2010 9:30PM I don't like that this article equates him being struggling/poor with being cheap and scavenging every penny out of you. My husband wasn't rich by any means when I met him. He's from India, his family (6 people) live in a 1-bedroom house. Growing up he never had a bed or hot running water.
But when I met him he would spend every rupee he had to take me out to dinner, or pay for a taxi just to drive home with me and make sure I got there safe, or buy me a new DVD we could watch together. His generosity and selflessness was what really melted my heart, and we got engaged 6 months later. We're both "cheap" in general terms, but he thinks his girl should be treated like a lady. That's something that I love so much about him.
Sun-Kissed for Summer: Readers' Secrets {Shopping Articles Blog}
May 31st 2010 6:23AM what is sexy? Some would answer the "sun-kissed look".
In Asia and India, they would answer "milky white skin".
Why is it necessary to strive to look like something you are not??? Who's decided that looking unnaturally tanned is sexy, or that white is beautiful? In reality it's incredibly shallow to buy either tanning or skin whitening creams when there are so many better uses for your money, like donating to charity or reading a book to expand your mind. Now THAT'S sexy.
10 Hardest Countries to Get Into {AOL Travel News}
May 27th 2010 2:37PM Furthermore, are you aware it is FIVE HUNDRED dollars for an Indian to get a TOURIST visa to visit the states? And you're sitting here whining about having to pay SIXTY? How entitled are you? No other country in the world gets into any country they wish with a stamp at the airport. What makes America different that you should deserve special treatment?
10 Hardest Countries to Get Into {AOL Travel News}
May 27th 2010 2:26PM I find it ridiculous that China and India are both placed higher on the list than North Korea and Iran. I've visited India twice in the last year without any inkling of a problem, besides having to leave the country before 6 months was up. And as for China, I have friends (American) living and working there, and they haven't had any serious issues either. A rather flawed list.
Judge Issues Warrant for Lindsay Lohan's Arrest {PopEater}
May 21st 2010 5:00AM Lindsay wants a new judge who isn't so "bossy and strict"??
omg she's sooo mean, she wants me to actually follow the guidelines of my probation and show up for my courtdates? Pscha! Sooo unfair.
This isn't a game, Lindsay needs to wake up and realize that or she's going to end up in jail sometime soon.. or worse.
Is Jon Stewart America's most trusted financial voice? {Daily Finance}
Mar 12th 2009 2:47PM Jon Stewart is the ONLY news show I watch. The rest take themselves so seriously I think they're actually contributing to many of the problems we have currently (like Cramer telling people to invest in a specific --crashing-- stock?! Whoever listens to his "advice" is a tool but the fact that it's out there in the first place is highly disturbing). Stewart attempts to observe from the outside and calls people on their sh** - and not in a mean mud-slinging way like O'Reilly or any of that other crap.
