SmackDown: Should a Kid Be Allowed to Scream at a Restaurant? {ParentDish}

Sep 10th 2010 6:39PM ct, This is where I think people are wrong. You can raise your child to behave in public without resorting to public spankings. I am not in fear of the law, because I have raised respectful, unspoiled children (okay slightly spoiled) who know their manners, how to use them, and how to generally behave. If people took the time to raise their children, they wouldn't have to worry about folks thinking they abuse their children when they finally get around to disciplining them. Most parents are just too lazy, don't stand firm on their decisions and give in to whining or excuses.

SmackDown: Should a Kid Be Allowed to Scream at a Restaurant? {ParentDish}

Sep 10th 2010 6:30PM As a parent of three children, one of whom is autistic I whole heartedly agree with this business owner. Children must be taught how to behave. Quite frankly, if the child is newborn to two, they can be taught. Remove them from the situation, wait until they calm down and then resume activity. The rest of us do not want to hear it, we don't want to hear you talk badly to the child, and I take offense to public punishments. Raise your children. It's never too early.

And most restaurants will provide you a place to quiet your child if you ask, at least where I live.

Teen Commits Suicide -- Is Sexting to Blame? {Lemondrop}

Mar 10th 2009 8:04AM Cell phones aren't to blame. A generation without guidance is more the problem that our technology. Two working parents, sometimes too tired at the end of the day to understand how simple talking to their children could be & how many problems it could help avoid.

Children raised with lack of discipline. Children raised to believe they can bully other children and actually seek reasons to do so. If it wasn't a cell phone, they'd find something else, including just stories regarding the break-up. It's how it's been since before I went to high school in the 90's and it won't change until people change how they view others around them and teach their children as such.

Cell phones aren't to blame. Goes back to lack of parenting.

Life threatening allergies continue to be on the rise. Your children may have survived without cell phones, but should a child with a severe bee allergy be locked in his home spring/summer/fall to avoid bee stings that may happen outside of his mother's eye sight because the parent is BEATEN up by other parents over their teen/child having a cell phone?

I don't think the cell phone issue makes anyone a bad or good parents, btw. Just one who had to think about their lives as a whole & decide what is the best choice for their family. Do they pay $30 for a landline or $10.00 to add a line to their cell service.

Blown Tire Puts Daytona in Chaos for Stewart-Haas Racing {Fanhouse Motorsports Blog}

Feb 14th 2009 11:27PM Really? The US name means so much, eh? Have you read the stickers on the cars to see what percentage of the car is American? You'd be surprised & shocked if you did. When you are done examining the American brands and their average, wander my a toyota dealership and check theirs. I found it sad.

Farewell to Bush {Politics Daily}

In going along with the big spending big government types, GWB screwed us and gave the government right into their hands. But he did put an end to the terrorist attacks on American soil as soon as they attacked under his watch. Oddly enough, they attacked the same target as when they the tested his predecessor -- the World Trade Center
***
In all respect, the original attack on the world trade center was in 1993. That left 8.5 years between attacks. Do I fell safe? No, I don't. We still don't have Osama, he remains free. The Taliban has regrouped and is coming back at our poor troops.

I don't feel safe and anyone who really doesn't believe that they won't try again is only enjoying a false sense of security. Even if Bush remained president, eventually they would try again until they are caught.
