Getting Over the Good Girl Guilt {Personal Articles}

Aug 22nd 2009 10:02PM Dear Chrisa,

>>> " What do you say to them??? How do they forgive themselves??" My answer to this would be that there is no sin that cannot be forgiven if you ask for forgiveness; in other words, God's love is GREATER than any sin we can commit. When you do something and you regret it, you can say you want God's help to change, and you can definitely turn around. If you don't want to do the same thing over again, you have the strength to choose a different way and avoid that action. When you're feeling the pain of regret it's not so much about wondering when the pain will go away based on the question "when will God forgive me?", but rather "when will I let myself accept that I am already forgiven?" Believing in mercy and knowing you're forgiven won't make the pain disappear immediately, but it will help you start your journey back towards your own right path without the choices that made you feel badly. I would suggest you pray about it, if something you've done has been making you feel this way, and if you want, I can certainly pray for you as well.

In Peace,
Sam
