5 Ways to Get Over Your Ex {Personal Articles}
Nov 28th 2008 9:15PM But what if your ex is someone you work with? There is no way to avoid him completely, no way to put him out of my mind. That is my case. I knew it was not a good idea, but I foolishly thought at the time nothing ventured, nothing gained. We have broken up for the second time -- he broke up with me the first time, I took him back, and then he broke up with me again. We work together in the same office, and there is daily contacts due to some projects we've been working on together. No one else in the office knows about us because we kept it discreet, and that is the only consolation, I guess. It's been hell trying to conceal my hurt and pretending that it's not a big deal. It's been almost 6 months since the break-up but I haven't been able to get over it. I think I have a hard time getting over the rejection (i.e. being dumped twice) more than getting over him. I see that he's moved on and having fun dating other people. He openly flirts with other ladies in the office for me to see. Yes, he is a jerk, but why do I still feel the pain? Leaving this job is not an option for me because I've invested so much for so many years already. Besides, why should I leave when I haven't done anything wrong? I just want to stop feeling the hurt already and move on...
