ManCans' Hart Main: A 13-Year-Old Entrepreneur Invents Candles for Men {AOL Small Business}
May 12th 2011 2:53PM I'm a married mom of 3 and I think this is awesome! I love candles, though I prefer cinnamon - not with apple smells. I personally think it could be a turn on for women that want a real man. My husband is outdoorsy and I love the smell of him. I do like him clean, but I don't want him smelling like flowers. Men can smell like men and still be refreshing ladies. If you want a man that smells like flowers you aren't getting a man, you are looking for a loverboy puppy dog.
What's the White Stuff on Vanessa Hudgens' Finger? {PopEater}
Apr 19th 2011 1:37PM Anything for a story! Ever heard of powdered candy? Very likely. Don't jump the gun and point fingers people.
Confessions of a Relationship Therapist: The Top 5 Problems Couples Share on My Couch {MyDaily}
Apr 11th 2011 9:55AM My husband and I are young, but we've been together 8 years. We've never had these problems. If one of us is down we have open discussion. My husband doesn't like to open up about feelings - or so it seems. lol He is very simple. Women overthink men too often I think. Okay so he forgot something, but what else is he trying so hard to remember? I forget things all the time and he never throws a fit. We joke about everything. If you can joke and laugh about things it'll be okay. If I feel down I say something. Men do not have 100% of their attention on you at all times and they shouldn't have to. My husband and I love sharing time together, but if I needed his attention or help all the time I wouldn't be a competent person. Some women think they want that 24/7 attention, then they aren't happy 3 months later because things changed. Things do change. You have to put your all into a relationship everyday. Try to look good for your man. Cook his favorite meals or do something special for him. Making a man feel loved will make you more fulfilled because when the man feels loved he wants to do the same for you. Don't have high expectations to get a romantic dinner everytime. If he picks up after the kids and helps clean up that is better! Being a sweet partner adds up faster than once every few months of an occasionally romantic moment. Plus you'll get further with the sincerity.
Boss Requires Female Workers Wear Red Bracelets During Menstrual Cycle {AOL Jobs}
Dec 2nd 2010 2:20PM Although it is a bit personal, it could be affective - if we all had periods for the same length of time and bled the same amount. How would they deal with the problems though? Would they keep track of their periods? Some women have a period for 3 others up to 2 weeks at a time. So who's to say the women don't wear them longer for little breaks? And then what happens if they aren't on their period but have a UTI which would also cause a lot of breaks? Or yet a heavy bleeder versus a light bleeder? Do they really think that is is going to tell them who is abusing their system? Looks like more of a complication in the long run. "Here let me see the blood." - I'm seeing an issue, are they?
More Parents Putting Babies on Diets {ParentDish}
Dec 2nd 2010 2:11PM Putting a baby on a diet is dangerous. Babies up through 2 years of age need those calories for brain growth as well as body growth. At age 2 and older the calories are still important, but teaching healthy eating habits and healthy portions is key. Telling your child no matter what age they are to stop eating so much because they are fat or acting like a piece of bread is going to kill them will cause mental problems. Restricting a child's intake of food is dangerous for their health of mind. WIC claims my oldest daughter is obese, but she is well proportioned, short, and dense. She has a lot of muscle mass especially for a little girl. When you start looking at only weight and height things get blurry and you usually don't get the truth of the matter. I was told to lose weight at 14 by one doctor when another doctor showed me I had 3% body fat. How is that for muddying the waters for a kid. If a kid wants to eat a little more then fine, but do exercises, play wii, or something energentic. There are ways to show kids to have fun and be healthy; and if you are listening to the garbage from the doctors, stop and use your own judgement. Doctors usually don't know what is going on, but a mother's true instinct - not the worrying - is usually on the spot.
Notorious 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' Mental Institution Reopening {Asylum}
Nov 21st 2010 11:43AM As mean as it sounds, your comment is nothing but true. I am very sympathetic to those with illnesses, but when it comes to treating love and compassion aren't enough. People need to understand the reality of the situation and what needs to be done. The truth isn't pretty most of the time, but none the less it is the truth. It is easy to say it's horrible and that you'd never do something or allow something like that to happen. The truth is most people have no idea what day to day life takes for these people and the ones taking care of them. Too many people live in their own little world and don't see the harsh reality to protecting the rest of the us. You don't take someone mentally ill and just put them in a place with everyone else. It isn't safe. Some mental illnesses are treatable and others are hopeless cases. If you've ever been in a coma or in a state where you could think, but nothing makes sense and you can't say and do what you are thinking you may come close to understanding. A lot of these people can't help themselves and so for the insane you do what you can to apease them and keep the other lot safe.
Celebrate the Day of the Dead {AOL Hot Searches}
Nov 2nd 2010 1:23PM Believing in life after death is a common belief. If you go to heaven you have life after death. Believing in spirits is also in the Bible - note the Holy Spirit. I am a christian and I believe honoring loved ones after they past is a great thing. Making an alter is not trying to connect with them either. It is putting your love out there in case they happen to come by. The Bible may say when you die you know nothing and it is true. I can't tell you how many spirits I end up telling they are dead and they don't understand. I've been guided by God and done his work my whole life. I do not try to contact spirits as they are always coming to me for help. I believe God has put people on Earth that can see into the spiritual world to help them move on. Pastors try to save souls and I like many others try to help them feel comforted and help them move on. This celebration seems to me about nothing but rememberance and love. Do we not celebrate veteran's day? How is this holiday different. We are all heros to someone and this is the day to celebrate those heros we all love that we've lost.
British Store High & Mighty Launches Size XXXXL Suit, Health Experts Decry Obesity Trend {Stylelist}
Nov 2nd 2010 1:12PM I was always thin and never understood why people got fat. Then I had 3 kids, each pregnancy accompanied with a separate a lasting health effect. I am considered plus size in a size 12! I do feel big for my size, but due to hypoglycemia, anemia, severe migraines - daily and others accompanied with constant nausea, and hypothyroidism I and the doctors are at a loss. To top it all off I'm now allergic to all nuts, peanuts, etc and the zero transfat oil now being put into food at the grocery store. Not a lot left for me to eat that I can eat - and I've tried choking down a salad, but for me I end up gagging too much to actually eat anything. So for those that make fun - don't. Life will kick you in the butt and you will understand. Being overweight causes a lot of health problems, but I'm willing to bet that 50% of those overweight got there from health problems. I say eat to be happy and try to be healthy as your situation allows. Who is to say someone bigger can't be happy? When it comes down to it would you rather be thin and miserable or with more to love and be as happy as you've ever been? I can deal, knowing I take the bad with the good. The good being my happy family.
Teen Drivers in New Jersey Balk at 'Scarlet Letter' Decals {ParentDish}
Jun 9th 2010 4:32PM Labeling teenage drivers as inexperienced sends a wrong messege to teenagers and older adults. I am not a teen, but even when I was I was a safe driver. Yes there are some that aren't safe, but the same can be said of elderly people and those in their 40s. Age doesn't matter when it comes to driving because not everyone is going to pay attention 100% of the time every time. People will mess up and some people don't care. If you don't go fast enough or if you go too fast people aren't happy because people are not considerate to others when driving. They are focused on getting themselves from point A to point B. I do not agree on labeling young drivers for people to see. They can be followed home by some pervert, or be cited in an accident that may not be their fault due to people that think just like the ones that decided they needed red stickers.
Following Deaths, a Move in Congress to Ban Drop-Side Cribs {AOL Health}
May 25th 2010 12:59PM Most of the recalled cribs are shown to malfunction when put together incorrectly. Testing the crib in all ways possible can help prevent this. I used a metal crib for my son and oldest daughter and a newer model for my youngest. We tested each one and made sure it was put together properly. If congress banned everything that was harmful then there goes restaurants, cars, and everything else everyone has grown ascustomed to. I am short and needed drop-down cribs or I wasn't able to put my child in his/her crib. Use a stool? Well now that is safe! If it is a company mistake then it should have been caught by the company or the parents. Safety is checking and testing prior to using the real baby. You think first so you don't hurt later.
