Seven Things to Leave Off Your Resume {AOL Jobs}
Jan 7th 2011 5:57PM I have had several strong job leads since being unemployed recently and DO have my objective and references on my resume. Just goes to show that these tips are BS.
Freebies for the Unemployed {AOL Jobs}
Jan 2nd 2011 2:33PM How in the world can these perks help the unemployed. We need jobs, not freebie perks! this is stupid. I have been looking for a job since August 2010 and don't need freebie perks. I need job leads and money!
41 Percent of Small/Medium-Sized Companies Hiring in 2011 {AOL Jobs}
Dec 19th 2010 7:26PM To all job seekers (I am one also): I hope that 2011 will lead you to a job that you will enjoy...I have been looking for a job for the last 4 months (I have had interviews, but no offers) and no offers. Life is too short and we all deserve to be happy...(also those who are employed deserve to be happy too.) I am trying to hope for best..
10 Reasons Why More Americans Are Quitting Their Jobs {AOL Jobs}
Dec 15th 2010 9:24AM It is real easy to complain when one has a job. I have been unemployed for 4 months (due to restructuring from a job I had for 4 years and prior to that job I had a job that lasted 17 years and lost it due to reduction in force from the federal government....the government...go figure right??) and I can tell you, being unemployed stinks! I feel inadequate, frustrated, depressed, almost became suicidal (thanks to the support of family I am surviving) and I just downright unhappy. I wake up everyday looking for jobs and hoping for the best. At age 48 almost 49, I sometimes worry that it will be even harder to find another job because of my age and no doubt because of this economy. It is sad when we as Americans are either overworked and stressed or unemployed stressed. We all want to live and not just exist! what happened to the American dream? I guess it died...no wait, I guess only the wealthy are allowed to have that..the hardworking middle class is becoming the struggling, trying to make it class....
My Unemployed Life: The Forgotten Woman {AOL Jobs}
Nov 27th 2010 6:44PM @matt: are you cursing me out, or her??? either way, it is not necessary to curse her or me out. If you were cursing me out, I was not being conceited in my comment....and, if you were cursing me out, you can just go to hell if you were....
My Unemployed Life: The Forgotten Woman {AOL Jobs}
Nov 27th 2010 6:32PM @Sam the Patriot: I am confused by your comment....who are you criticizing??? this lady is unemployed....are you criticizing her and the rest of us who are unemployed??? why, if you are?? it doesn't make sense....we need jobs to pay bills and help place food on the table along with keeping roofs over our head. And, just let me say, this country PREFERS that people work so that money can continue to flow in the system (for retail and the like to show profits) you should know that!!!!
My Unemployed Life: The Forgotten Woman {AOL Jobs}
Nov 27th 2010 6:19PM I am in the same situation. I have been unemployed almost 4 months and have gone through unemployment before (over 5 years ago due to reduction in force from a federal agency and now due to a restructuring from an organization in the private sector) going through being unemployed can be degrading, frustrating, and downright aggravating. So many people out of work, so few opportunities.....you almost want to give up; yet, I will not....those of us who are unemployed like me must keep going; even if we don't feel like it....
Tina Knowles on Miss Tina Line at Walmart and the Importance of Plus-Size Clothing {Stylelist}
Oct 11th 2010 1:45PM I am a size 20 and sometimes 22. I hope the size 20 is a generous fit. Also, I hope the quality is long lasting. You have to really watch what you buy from Wal-Mart. Affordability and quality must go hand in hand to equal "true value" in my opinion. Thanks Ms. Knowles, I will be on the look out for your clothing line hopefully to show up in a WalMart near me in the Plano/Frisco, Texas area (north of Dallas and Plano, Texas)
Four Ways to Break Through the Noise and Get Noticed {AOL Jobs}
Oct 9th 2010 6:42PM I have been unemployed 2 months and it is driving me up the wall already. I feel like I am an empty shell of a person. I have applied for several jobs with no in person interviews; only over the phone pre-screening interviews. (3 so far..) At 48 years old, I fear that all of the young, college educated candidates out there are the ones these companies want even though I am very dedicated and have over 21 years of work experience. I hate being in this situation, absolutely hate it. Also, with all due respect to veterans, it seems unfair that vets receive preference in so many categories or areas of employment/work industries (especially the federal government) that even though I have 17 years of government service (I have applied for several federal jobs), I keep getting turned down (even if my ratings are high) for government jobs because veterans automatically get preference points. Again, I have regard for veterans; however, they are not the only ones looking for jobs right now. Is there a miracle out there for all of us who are unemployed? if it is, when will it happen????
