Maybe if you actually looked at what the Mormon church does with their tithes and donations, you wouldn't post such an ignorant statement. They provide more humanitarian aid than ANY church in the Untied States and I'd have to check my facts but I'd dare say the world. But I don't have to defend them from you, they can take care of themselves, just hought you'd like to know that they do exactly what you said they should be doing! xo

Why isn't a civil union enough? The gay and lesbian lifestyle is not "traditional" they will be the first to admit that. So why do they need to define their union in traditional terms as marraige? Prop 8 did not take away any right to love whomever they please, to live as they please, to have the same benefits as a married couple, it changed the name of their union.

(Hmmm....so you're saying when Evangelicals bomb abortion clinics, harass physicians and disrupt the funerals of gay soldiers, thats okay. When Churches use their members donations to play politics in violation of every American law and tradition going back to Jefferson, that is okay.
But when Gay and Lesbian Americans exercise their Constitutional right to protest that's Anarchy..?)
Can we please find the TRUTH here! Who has justified that it is okay for anyone to bomb abortion clinics, harass physicians, or disrupt a gay soldiers funeral?
The Mormon church did NOT use their members donations to "play politics". The money was donated to the Yes on 8 campain by members of the Mormon church. Just as millions of other members of different denominations and non-denominations donated to this cause that they believe in.
I love how tollerance is spouted when it is in a groups best interest. But if it's not then the oppositions are "bigots and hate-filled evangelicals". Let us talk about HIPOCRACY!
The Gay and Lesbian Americans and No on 8 supporters have every right to demonstrate and protest their disagrement with the outcome. They do not have the right to target, destroy private property, harass and commit hate crimes to any of their opposition.
Isn't it amazing what can happen when people organize themselves for a good cause! Great job Yes on 8! We love you for protecting our belief in the sanctity of marraige.

As one who has READ both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, they go had in hand. And thank you for making it so clear, the BOM does teach the gospel according to that which the Appostles taught and so does the LDS church. So thanks for the affirmation!

Oct 24th 2008 2:06PM Wow, someone is either really misinformed or has an agenda to mislead others. How about the truth. Even if you don't agree with mormonism why do you feel the need to try and villify it? LDS people are Christian, we believe in Christ. We do NOT believe that christ was a sinner or a polygamist. The only difference between us and traditional christian beliefs is that we believe God and Christ and the Holy Ghost are two seperate beings.
So lets try to get your facts straight, and not go off something you think you heard. Oh, and if you can't think for yourself... here is another fact like yours...did you know mormon have horns?

Oct 24th 2008 1:53PM Jimbo and PJ...I find your posts comical. If "most mormons" judge others and are polygamists then I guess you must personally know over 12 million mormons to make these accusations? If you are telling others to let God be the judge then how about you stop judging yourself.
Yes there are some momrons who judge others, as there are catholics, jews, buddhists, JW's, and thousands of others. People are not perfect, deal with it.
As for the calendar, I am a mormon. If you know faithful mormons you know that yes we are a little "odd" when compared to todays society. We have high standards in the way we dress and behave. Some may think it is weird, but it is what we believe. The calendar though not pornographic or "bad", does not depict the standards that we adhere to and definately are not appropriate as a depiction of our missionaries who are held to and even higher standard.
As for this guys excommunication, that does not come easily. He wouldn't be exed because of the calendar, he was most likely asked to stop the publication with the LDS name associated with it and didn't. Even then , there was probably something else going on. But we don't know, so again the judging thing come back.... to make it simple, the calendar shouldn't have been made without obtainig approval to be associated with the LDS church, and if they said no, make a calendar with a different name. Why is that so hard?
