11. Bambi's Mom, 'Bambi' {Lemondrop}

Jun 11th 2009 3:19PM Donna and all of you other "reality" people...
Most children can't differentiate fantasy from reality, (as evidenced by the hundreds of children who act out video fantasies and end up killing or maiming their playmates) and an event like Bambi's mother being shot is extremely traumatic. Especially if a child has gone through a similar event in "reality" and it reinforces the trauma. My daughter was watching the movie Bambi when she was about 5. When Bambi's mother was killed, my daughter went running from the room crying and had nightmares for weeks. She was very clingy to me for months after. She is 22 now, and has never watched the rest of the movie, nor does she desire too. She just received her degree in Psychology is going on for a PhD in forensic psych. She is very aware of the difference between fantasy and reality now, but she was so scarred by the movie that she doesn't want to refresh the memory. Don't kid yourself, trauma presented by a trusted source can be the most damaging to our children, especially when it's couched in the guise of adorable cartoon characters.

Superman = Jesus Christ? {Cinematical}

Jul 14th 2006 12:52PM One more thing--there is NO religious link between Moses and Jesus, and G-d explicitly prohibits worship of Moses. Please stop comparing Moses to Jesus and setting his actions up as a precursor to Jesus' appearance on earth. The Torah is the ONLY TRUE word of G-d! and nowhere in the Torah is there reference to or setting up of Jesus as the Moshiach! Christians falsely interpret the Torah to put forward their (actually) unsupported beliefs. If people really understood the Torah as the TRUE and ONLY word of G-d they'd see through this fabricated fallacy propagated by christians. BTW, idol worship is a sin. Jesus is NOT G-d. Why do you worship him? If he really knew what is in the heart of man why would he allow the horrendous suffering of 13 million orphans in Africa? If they call to him for help and he is their salvation, where is he? Not helping them or any other downtrodden! Open your eyes and hearts to G-d, G-d is One and G-d is the only salvation!

Superman = Jesus Christ? {Cinematical}

Jul 14th 2006 12:29PM Come on, all you comic book aficionados! Superman was created by two Jews in the 1930s, and I can guarantee that Jesus was the LAST comparison they were alluding to! And no Jew would compare or fashion anything or anyone to G-d. That is idolatry.
