The more you deny them an appropriate outlet, the more you get the sneaky cupcake eaters, the overeaters, the eaters and purgers -- let's use a bit of moderation and common sense and see where that gets us.

Sep 24th 2008 2:04PM Ha! That cuts both ways... and I think the best advice I ever heard job-wise was to choose your boss very carefully. I have had many pearls from my interviewing life, but here is one of my favorites. I was once asked by an interviewer (who, p.s. and btw, interviewed me in his toy-strewn office in his stocking feet) and asked about my famous boss. And yes, indeed, he actually said this to me, "I hear she is a real bitch. Is she?" Let's just say that I graciously fielded the question and did NOT go with my first response to (which would have been, "Not as much as you.")

Sep 19th 2008 12:32PM Maybe I shouldn't be telling you this, but I have a picture of me (circa junior high) wearing a beautifully floaty white dress, white high heel sandals and (wait for it) dark brown panty hose... and no, that wasn't the hipster-style of the time. I cannot look at those photos without thinking what was I thinking, what was my mom thinking and seriously, what was everyone at the dance thinking? Style faux pas, speak up people -- I would have saved years of embarrassment if someone had just told me to go to the girls' bathroom and take those fugly pantyhose off!
