Sean Penn Gets Probation for Kicking Photographer {PopEater}

May 12th 2010 11:09PM Anyone can have a very large ego(many do), you can be rich(many are)and you can be stupid(OH!MY!GOSH! the count is stupendous), but nobody has the right, as some of these vultures believe they do, to take an image of another person and make money from it. The court should have ruled that this "vulture" stay 100 yards from Penn, rather than v.v. As Susan Sontag said: "TO TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMEONE AGAINST THEIR WILL IS SUBLIMINAL MURDER."
She should know. I see what Penn did as self-defense.

Luv Coach Q&A: How to Forgive {BV on Love}

May 11th 2010 8:51PM I had a superhard time learning forgiveness, but here are a few comments on it; hope it helps. Forgiveness is often called the "Divine Absurdity".
Look that one up. There are two kinds of forgiveness; the first is from the heart(as in a Mom or Dad forgiving a child); the second is simply
clinical. "OK. I'll say it and make it legal, but I don't really know how to handle it." Sooner or later, if you love the person, it turns into the first kind. You find yourself sliding down into love and true unconditional forgiveness. Believe me
it happens. Another thought: forgiveness does more for the forgivee than for the forgiven. It makes the forgivee a hero. It cleans the soul. The forgiven doesn't even have to know they've been forgiven. It's all inside the heart of the forgivee. It took me decades to learn this and I had nobody to teach me. It is a true absurdity.

If You Love Vanilla, Are You Bland? {Slashfood}

Apr 29th 2010 10:30PM Bridgette: I'm still looking for the questionaire, too. I don't really care what it says about me. There is almost NO ice cream that this household of six won't try. Two of us have a favorite: Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, but the two of us will have any kind along with the rest of them.
I once made a batch of my own (Rasberry/Vanilla) with real cream, and we all spent the next 48 hours in the bathroom. Forget Phillip's!
Every State has its flower, its motto, its song, its bird ... the U.S. of A. should have a favorite desert. I'd vote for ice cream in the blink of an eye.

'You Don't Drink?' -- Why Refusing Alcohol Is Such a Big Social Taboo {Lemondrop}

Apr 17th 2010 1:26AM Dear Sir:
One of the most light-hearted, smiling and delightful comments this site has to offer. Thank goodness for the responsible alternative for sucking, woe-is-me attitudes. After all, Jesus drank wine at Cana. I love the buzz wine provides. I love the relaxing relief alcohol provides for this hard, life-sculling time on this Earth. I do not do drugs or life-enhancing alternatives for this hard life. I wish only to be left alone for a mist-enshourding time of relief and sleep-enducing time of consciousness we have to make it through hard times. And theose hard times are becoming more and more plentiful during the 21st Century. I say, "let the dark times be". Let the good times roll.

'You Don't Drink?' -- Why Refusing Alcohol Is Such a Big Social Taboo {Lemondrop}

Apr 17th 2010 12:55AM O:h, come on, folks! Relax. I worked in a nursing home some years ago, where a tiny Hebrew man was one of our clients. He was sad, unhappy, and severely depressed. He would not eat. He was losing weight. He wept daily. Finally, his Dr. addressed the problem; he was prescribed one huge glass of wine just before dinner, and another large drink during the meal. Mogan David Blackberry wine, it was. He perked up, ate like a horse during the meal, looking forward to his after-dinner apertiff and was absolutely jolly, well-filled with good food and looking forward to his families' visit. We loved the phenomenon. He actually glowed. His family laughed and were well-pleased with his dying days. They told us that the Bible allowed this. We agreed. He died a smiling man. What the hell could be so wrong with this sad man being afforded some pleasant times, some dining appetite, and some good times with his loved ones. So what if it depended on alcohol. I'd defend this man's last days to the finish. Wine has been around far longer than any living human being on this planet. There must be something "right" about it..

Jennifer Aniston to Launch Lolavie Fragrance {Stylelist}

Apr 16th 2010 11:23PM My Mom sat down, at age 90, with her children, her grandchildren and her great-
grand chilren. It was her last birthday and her toast to us was: "The best thing I ever accomplished in this life were all of you."
A friend through most of my life, who chose to remain childless, recently toasted her birthday on our cruise with five life-long friends. Her toast was: "I'll never be able to sit and toast my children and my descendents. My only regret is not having a child."

Jennifer and Angelina chose their futures. They will both look like 90 years old when they finally reach there. I'm with Angelina. But, I still like and admire Jennifer.

Jesse James Loves Sandra Bullock 'More Than Anything in His Life' {PopEater}

Apr 6th 2010 2:40PM Here's some more "old" observations on said situation: Actually, this is just a word game.
Plain old Lust is now "Sexual Addiction", intimating that the sufferer has no control over themselves.
...as in Gluttony is now "Obesity", and they, too, have no control over themselves.

No Happy Ending in Sight For Sandra Bullock and Jesse James {PopEater}

Mar 24th 2010 12:57AM Sandra appears to have been a well-adjusted, "above-the-cut" lady of a degenerate Hollywood style of 'broad'. If a 'lady' is what Jesse wanted, then he should have gone to every extreme to keep her. If he wanted a cheap, diseased, tattood whore, then he should have stayed where he was before Sandra. He ruined her life and he burned any kind of normalcy his kids could have had.
I don't see any resolution to his degeneracy other than divorce. What a sorry situation for those children. What a heart break for Sandra. What a filthy, infected pig he is.

How Long Can You Go Without Washing Your Hair? {Stylelist}

Mar 14th 2010 12:47AM The Oct 2009 issue of Good Housekeeping had an article on thinning hair, which was becoming my problem in my 60s. I was born with fine, but not thin, hair and have never used anything on it except "see-through" shampoo (Baby shampoo is best). No creme rinses, no gel, no mousse, no hair spray, no blower, no coloring. Nothing.
Then, I developed skin cancer and can never go out into the sun again. My doctor ran tests and found that I had Vit. D depletions, and so she put me on 1,000 units a day. The article states: "NEWS FLASH"! It has been suggested that healthy levels of Vit D is restoring hair regrowth.
IT IS! I am ecstatic.
I still wash my hair only every three days and comb it straight back when wet and let it air-dry. The hair knows where it want to go, cowlicks and all. This is healthiest it's been in years.

Inner City School Gets 100% of Its Black Men in to College {BV Black Spin}

Mar 13th 2010 1:59AM Those Nuns had something going for them. They had something going for us students, also. When your name was called, you snapped to attention, standing, in place. You wore a clean uniform every single day. You learned: "Yes, sir; No Sir; Yes, Sister; No, Sister". You learned respect. You learned to do what you were told and every last bit of vigilence gave determination. I am no longer Catholic, but their discipline and education has lasted me through 60 yrs. of Life. I am truly grateful for a stern education. It served me well. Thank you, Sisters of Nazareth of St. Joseph. I doubt I'd have made it if not for you all. THAT's education. That's Life. I am happy to see all those young men adhere to a strict policy. And I, too, am a white woman from Boston who thinks this school is probably one of the best in the whole world.
