Best and Worst Cell Phones: GoodGuide's Exclusive Ratings {WalletPop}

Feb 15th 2011 1:03AM I have had the LG Envy touchscreen phone (2 of them) for 20 months. The screen calibration was bad on my 1st one and the rest of the phone was fine. Started having dropped calls issues. Then it was dropped and the mic and screen went out.
The one they gave me was fine for the touchscreen, way better. I was HAPPY, not just satisfied with the Envy until I took a picture, Got these funny blue digital lines in every color pic. SO I checked and the lens is cracked. The battery life is awful.
Went to a Verizon store about this 18 months after I first got an Envy and he says don't bother with it, "They stopped making the pieces of crap because they are terrible" and you will get another refurbished phone with something else wrong with it.

Should How 'Green' You Are Be a Dating Deal-Breaker? {Lemondrop}

Jan 20th 2010 2:57PM I only draw the line if they have a Hummer, litter with disregard or throw a can/bottle in a trash can when there is clearly a blue recycle can right next to it. You can't fix stupid.

What Do Brides and Bridesmaids Really Think of Each Other? {Lemondrop}

Jun 5th 2009 8:35PM I was young, engaged, and fabulous when I found out that I was pregnant. My partner-in-crime was a working single mom (her parents took care of the child), and she was ecstatic about the news. I felt confident that moving up the wedding (100 guests) by three months would not be as difficult for my parents and I with her assistance. Then she started dating my fiance's best friend.
Where was she for the appointments? Too busy.
I had a difficult time explaining to my fiance why my Maid of Honor didn't throw me a bridal shower or a Bachlerette party. I had a harder time explaining to my parents why she was so late when it was her turn to help with things she had agreed to, like setting up the Rehearsal Dinner or Reception Party. But what took the wedding cake out of my mouth was having to explain to the guests who was that party girl with the zebra hair that wore baby blue lipstick to match her baby blue dress!
Incidentally, she didn't care for the long periwinkle gowns I paid to have made for the bridesmaids(my sister and sister-in-law), so I suggested she buy something light blue off the rack. She took her boyfriend to Cache to have him pay for it, he walked her down my aisle in it, and she was done with him in a month.
She was like Paris Hilton and had a new BFF every six months. I guess I was more of a sister to her than a BFF, but I got leary of the Piranha.
Maybe I felt like she owed me, and I let her throw me two baby showers for my two blessings. We had stayed in touch for three more years, but I never could look at those wedding album pictures without my blood pressure rising.

Farm versus factory: an endless American debate {WalletPop}

Aug 25th 2008 8:24AM There have been a lot of comments about the neighbors and the food bank squatting on someone elses land or trying to steal what does not belong to them.
Since the city took the land for legal purposes at the time, they owned the land. The man may have won his lawsuit/ got the deed back or whatever, but the city owned the land for that time in between. Someone in the city government knew what was going on and they allowed it.
Lay off of the food bank, they are just trying to feed the destitute and the poor. They also help the working poor. Food banks across America are struggling to keep thier warehouse full because donations are down in this economy, but the need has gone up.
I wonder if the landowner will ever get to sell his investment property.
The land is useless again.
The community still has no new jobs. The mayor looks like an idiot.
The environmental activists are barking up the wrong tree and this stalling everything.
Everybody loses.
