Mezuzah Case: Condo Association Bylaw vs. Jewish Practice {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 29th 2012 10:08PM religion, eh?
condo's and co-ops. great for city living if one can overlook institutional bare hallways, prison hued doors and tin pot hitlers.
of course there needs to be some sense of order but rarely ought it be left up to the narrow minded bean counters who think they run the place. perhaps a vote with a simple majority carrying the question might do the trick. one secret ballot per apartment on the petitioner's floor?
Cascading changes likely for cruise travelers {Gadling}
Jan 25th 2012 7:44AM safety is not the reason i will not book a cruise.
it may turn out that the actions of an egomaniac brought down the Costa Concordia, a true tragedy. this anomaly does not reflect the safety record of ships at sea.
there are two significant reasons i won't book a cruise.
1) cruise ships are among the biggest polluters and little, if anything, is being done to remedy this.
2) Panama offers a flag of convenience to 2,000 big ships. little Panama? 2,000 ships? there's a reason cruise lines flag their vessels in countries that are lax in oversight. not to mention revenue the home country loses out on. and yes, American owned lines have been known to fly such a flag.
Thirty abandoned churches from around the world {Gadling}
Aug 8th 2011 5:47PM as in so many abandoned buildings, whether homes or churches or even factories, these churches strike a chord of poignancy because of those who made them possible. people built these churches with determination and a dream and folks met there; socialized if you will until the great leveler, time, came into the picture.
Christina Aguilera Botches National Anthem at Super Bowl, Admits Mistake {PopEater}
Feb 7th 2011 10:57AM so what . . . you never had a lapse? a moment you just went blank? and then recovered. it's a song; the music is not even made for the human voice. should we rethink our national anthem?

Tennessee Man Uses Firearm to Carve Pumpkin {Asylum}
Oct 31st 2010 11:01AM it's okay to make mistakes in spelling/grammar; we all do at one time or another (it's called oversight) but, when trying to carry the argument for your side in a debate that really turns out to be about red & blue, the least you can do for your p o v is, USE YOUR SPELLCHECK

Oct 24th 2010 11:20AM if Jablonski were still haunting the halls of Hayes, he'd clear that corridor in a trice, but maybe not his pet, Philbin.
Umpire Jim Joyce's Blown Call Costs Armando Galarraga Perfect Game {Fanhouse MLB Blog}
Jun 3rd 2010 1:45PM Jimmy Joyce made a mistake; admitted it once he saw the replay. That's a stand-up guy. A damned shame it happened that way but if you're looking castigate someone, try the MLB, claiming copyright, the powere-to-be pulled the video. Admit a mistake? Not on your life! And that's the story universally with people who run the show. See banks under the letter B, for hmmm, banks?
GOP's Steele Calls for Reid to Step Down as Leader Because of Racial Remarks {Politics Daily}
Jan 10th 2010 1:56PM first off, please accept the world as a crazy place and homo sapiens the looniest species.
even if we disregard the fact that p c is a smoke screen so designed that people are afraid to speak their minds, thereby bereft of decision making, the remarks by Harry Reid mount to nothing more than an observation on today's culture and on changing times.
The senator noted that today's climate allowed a man fitting the president's description and demeanor a fair chance at an office denied for 200 years. he drew no conclusion as to the rightness or wrongness of it.
we will pay an horrendous price for our current behavior; it's time for both sides to take a deep breath and begin a conversation.

'Life' Star Fired for Religious Beliefs? {PopEater}
Sep 9th 2009 1:22PM she chose to be an actress, it's "make believe".
how many of her supporters would even bring religion into this if she were asked to shoot and murder another "character" in a "make-believe" situation?
and for those who don't like murderers, real or imagined, or gays, real or imagined, watch something else; there are 500 channels (including animations).
better yet, do something productive with your lives.
