My best friend's mother works her butt off week after week at a dizzying pace at age 67 and can't take a vacation because she doesn't make enough and she's supporting a disabled husband. I wouldn't want that for my heirs.

I would be philanthropic, though.

Aug 21st 2008 9:21PM Michael Tsai, I feel sorry for you. A cheat is a cheat, whether that person is American or Chinese. And in this instance, I am glad that the IOC is investigating, because those girls clearly have lied about their ages and their shame is about to be revealed to the world. And yes, they are Americans. But if they were the legal age, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. It's a shame because when those gals do get the gold they so deserved, they will have been robbed of their moment on the podium.
You are just as guilty as those Americans you are accusing of being sore losers. What we are crying out against is the unmitigated gall of China for flouting the rules, which, like it or not ALL athletes have to abide by. Get ready to eat some crow, son.
