Jun 24th 2010 12:03PM My favorite thing about my cat, Brie, is that the first thing she always wants to do when I get home is crawl into my lap, look up at me adoringly with her beautiful yellow eyes, and make me feel like the most important person in the world - at least in her world.

Mea Culpa: Fox News keeps making conservative-friendly mistakes {Daily Finance}
Nov 20th 2009 12:05AM That's two mistakes. Woooooo - big freaking deal. The liberal media has been consistently screwing with the facts as well as omitting important news in order to paint their liberal agenda in the most favorable light. FOXnews is kicking butt and the reason is because people recognize "fair and balanced" when they see it and they pretty much think the networks and those nitwits at CNN and MesSNBC can go scratch. Liberal media bailout anyone????
Sarah Palin: Levi Welcome at Thanksgiving Table; Johnston Declines {ParentDish}
Nov 15th 2009 6:44AM Levi Johnston is an opportunistic lowlife piece of trash. Sarah Palin is a class act. You do the math. The Palins should just enjoy that beautiful baby Tripp and forget ole Levi exists because he is a disgrace and shouldn't even be allowed to see his son.
Could the imminent nursing shortage be a career opportunity? {AOL Jobs}
Nov 14th 2009 11:58AM Dear LovesNurs2, You don't know me and you don't have any right to tell me what kind of nurse I am going to be. I am an intelligent, dedicated person who has been taking care of children's academic needs for 21 years. The fact that I want to segue into nursing because I want to continue to take care of children while I pay my bills as a single parent does not take away from my dedication or desire to add my contributions to a noble profession. I respect your career choice but not your choice to criticize me. And, as far as I am concerned, it is certainly not "anybody" who can get through a grueling nursing program. I did so with an A average (not a B average) at night while I taught during the day and I graduated as a Distinguished Scholar not because I wanted money but because I wanted to be the best nurse I can be. And I guarantee you I will be exactly that. Surely there were easier roads I could have traveled but I chose nursing specifically because of the nature of the work. If it was all about money I could have gone back into publishing which was my first career. And any good nurse knows that teaching is an essential element of being a nurse. I hope you aren't as judgemental of your patients as you have chosen to be of me.
Could the imminent nursing shortage be a career opportunity? {AOL Jobs}
Nov 14th 2009 7:18AM I am a graduate nurse, attempting to enter this career after working for many years as an editor and then as a teacher. I went to school for four years at night making up science credits and doing the nursing and clinical thing. I cannot tell you how many of my colleagues are looking for work in this "shortage" and how many have accepted sub-par jobs. I am not attempting this shift because I want to be rich - I am ready for a better paying career, yes, because teaching in parochial school is not a good way to pay the bills. But I also wanted to continue to do important work in my "old age." It is dispiriting to run up against all these hiring freezes and other obstacles when it is clear that there is a real shortage and nurses are working their petunias off. I will continue to be hopeful and, as soon as I pass NCLEX and get my license, I will dive into the search wholeheartedly. But I have much lowered expectations due to the experiences of my friends and I worry about how this administration's disasterous socialist medicine proposals make take shape and make things worse. Don't believe for a minute that most nurses and doctors support Obama, because this is simply not true. They know the ramifications of this proposals and are hoping they will not go through. Real positive change would engender tort reform and portability among other reasonable proposals. Socialized medicine is not the way to go. Ask my Canadian friends.
Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin & My Skip Gates Question {Politics Daily}
Jul 30th 2009 5:22PM I don't care about the circumstances surrounding the question. It is the answer that is troubling and that says to me that Obama still has a racist agenda. This story was not about racism. The cop involved was not acting with a racist agenda. But Obama's telling remark let's everyone know where he stands on this so-called issue. He's not a president of all the people - he's just a president for his "oppressed" countrymen. Give me a break! THIS is precisely the attitude that gets us in trouble. How can we ever be a color blind nation when our own president sees racial profiling where there is none?
Why Are We Suddenly So Obsessed With Nurses? {Lemondrop}
Jun 29th 2009 7:37PM I just graduated from nursing school at a ripe old age I might add. I spent 12 years as a writer/editor and 20 years as a teacher. I am hoping to enter another proud profession and concentrate on helping others. Of course now that I've just about achieved my personal Holy Grail I'm told that despite the need for nurses there's a hiring freeze due to the economy. Oh, well, what are you gonna do? Meanwhile, folks, don't believe everything you see on TV. Nursing isn't a glamorous profession where you look for a doctor to marry. It's hard work making sick people feel a little better and hopefully get well. That's what it's all about.
Conservatives Attack Fox's Shep Smith {Politics Daily}
Jun 12th 2009 5:30PM I am a staunch Conservative and a faithful FOXnews fan. I like Shep and even though I don't always agree with him, I don't see why he should be run off the station. Conservatives are confident enough in our beliefs to be open to other opinions. That's why we call our station "fair and balanced." Other non Conservatives are heard on FOXnews all the time. If we survived Alan Combs we can survive the occasional opposing opinion by Shep. Besides he has great blue eyes LOL!!!!!
