Elvis Presley's Home a Teardown? Hard Rock Cafe Founder Peter Morton's Plans for His House {AOL Real Estate}
Feb 2nd 2013 6:59PM Restaurant Magnate Peter Morton? Really? He would be better served by spending the money on remodeling and updating the food, service, menus and decor of all his shabby, cheap, middle-of-the-road restaurants, which claim to be "upscale", but which are really just over-priced for what they give. That's a laugh! LOL
Ray Romano: 'I've Had a Crisis in My 20's, 30's, 40's' {PopEater}
Jul 9th 2011 10:28AM Forget about whether he's talented or funny or not, will ya. He's another multi-millionaire many times over who will be earning syndication royalties FOREVER because of couch potatoes like most of you and who never has to work another day in his life, if he doesn't want to and all he can think of to do is whine. SHEEEESH! Poor rich Ray Romano. He probably even has a great accountant who fixes it so he doesn't pay much in taxes. Shut up already!
Source: Charlie Sheen 'Destroyed' by Ashton News {PopEater}
May 17th 2011 9:19AM All the goodie two shoes and naysayers can write all the crap they want about Charlie and this issue, but it won't change the soon-to-be fact that I invoke by quoting Mr Rogers, "Can you say, 'Cancellation'? I betcha can." Ashton is definitely NOT Charlie and the craziness was part of what made the show. Charlie was the show. Ashton would be better in "Cougar Town".
Living Without: Could You Deal With No Cable TV? {Shelterpop}
May 16th 2011 2:23PM I'm proud to say that I have never had cable TV. So, I don't have to worry about the contrast against "living without it". It seems every service you "need" these days costs at or about $100/month. That's just too much, way too much. $100 month for a data plan smart phone, just nuts! Whatever happened to $19/month, or even $29/month, for that matter. Is $100 the new $19? How's that for inflation Mr. Bernanke? If everything is going to cost $100/month or more, I'll continue to find ways to do without, no problem. My NetFlix subscription is still only 14.95/month. Now that's genius!
10 Reader-Tested Baking Recipes {Kitchen Daily}
May 16th 2011 1:31AM The last recipe I'll ever need? I don't think so. I don't understand the whole "chewy" cookie craze. If I want "chewy", I'll buy gummy bears. Cookies should be crisp and crunchy, like the Pepperidge Farm originals. I use the thin and crispy chocolate chip cookie recipe from America's Test Kitchen, thank you.
Elephants break out of Tsavo West National Park, locals go into hiding {Gadling}
May 6th 2011 2:38PM How is there a problem? The key sentence in this whole article is, "With Africa's expanding [human] population putting ever more pressure on parks and game reserves, incidents like this will only become more common." If Africa's population is "expanding" in spite of wars, genocide, terrorism, aids, poverty, starvation and lack of clean water, it's pretty obvious to me that the people don't need any help surviving. On the other hand, the elephant population has been dwindling for a century. Which group needs help here? The one growing like a virus or the one that is really stressed and dying? MMMMM. I wonder?
Starburst Prom Dress made from Wrappers (Video) {Stylelist (Main)}
Apr 20th 2011 7:17PM Ya know, I gotta say that I live in New York City, where I'm a creative director, and I've always been in or near big cities. I have access to all the latest trends and fashion. I hear a lot of people make a lot of fun of folks from country places like western Wisconsin, and, all of that notwithstanding, this is not only one of the most fabulous, original, and creative fashion/advertising ideas I've ever seen, but this mom has also done a great job of creating a pixelated color pattern and blending it beautifully into a well designed dress and accessories (including the boyfriend's vest). If this mom and daughter don't make something out of this from either the Wrigley Company, or their ad agency(ies), or there publicists, etc. etc. (or even somehow turn it into a huge business/career shift), then somebody else is about as dumb as a bag of hammers, because there's some serious creativity and innovation going on here and, as we all know, America's been a tad short on that of late. Excellent. Love it!
Video: Kristen Bell French Kisses a Giraffe in Africa {PopEater}
Apr 13th 2011 10:27AM I did this at this place too! Kristen is right; do it, it's fabulous. That said, there is one thing about her description that isn't entirely accurate. You see in the video how LARGE a giraffe's head is? I was feeding pellets to one of the smaller giraffes and one of the very LARGE giraffes didn't like that so much for some reason. It came over and made like it was going to get a pellet also, but then it lowered its head and head butted me right off my feet and flung me against the back wall. And I'm 6'6" tall and weigh 190lbs. The giraffe picked me off the ground with its head like I was a feather. They're not dangerous, but I would be a tad more careful than Kristen was being.
America's Meanest Airlines {Gadling}
Apr 11th 2011 7:15PM I'll agree with United being the meanest. I am aware of the rules for the frequent flier club and its point system, but I did not realize that they would not even bother to send out a reminder. They allowed 38,000 of my hard flown FF miles to expire on me without so much as a note, or email, or letter, or anything. And then they refused to reinstate them. That blows. I have not flown on United since and that was about eight years ago.
Passenger Kicked Off Horizon Air Flight For Being Too Tall {AOL Travel News}
Apr 3rd 2011 5:57AM "Huge, Tall, Freaks"? I guess you don't enjoy watching basketball, moron. Let's see, what makes a person more of a freak; being 6' 9" tall or being AS IGNORANT AS YOU!
