Awkward Family Photo Cover Models Recreate Awkward Pose 13 Years Later {Asylum}
Jul 17th 2010 10:34AM It's a weird position for related adults to be in, period. It's awesome that they have such a great sense of humor about it. I just wish the photographer and stepmom had been videotaped explaining this position to the family and the families reaction to it.

How To Treat A Dog Bite {Pawnation OLD}
May 26th 2010 4:31PM please crate train your dog. You will both be so happy that you did. He can't get into things when you aren't there, and has a place that is his own. When you are home try keeping him with you in whatever room you are in (baby gates are great!) and give him puppy appropriate toys (puppy kongs). And Walk, walk, walk walk walk!!
'Lost' Ending: A Finale for the Ages {AOL TV}
May 24th 2010 12:46PM "A man awakes in a jungle. He is bruised and bloody, and doesn't know where he is. A yellow Labrador Retriever watches him from the trees, then suddenly runs off. He forces himself up and winces in pain, leaning against a tree."
These are the first few sentences that describe the first part of the pilot. I think this is way more simple than some folks (ahem, my dear hubby) think. Jack dies in the first few minutes of the show, none of this happened it was all in his head. The dog coming to him in "the end" is really the dog coming to him in the beginning. I don't think there was any alternate reality except in Jacks noggin as he went into shock while dying beside a dog on an island after a plane crash.

Apr 9th 2010 1:45PM no, I mean species, any of 34 living species of foxes, wolves, jackals, and other members of the dog family.
And no, they are not "learned behaviors". We are very aware that behaviors can be learned, however my dogs are not. She is either told to go lay down or we walk away and stop petting her when she starts this.

Apr 9th 2010 1:05PM whatever. I have never hit my dogs and I am appalled that you would even suggest that I do. With the alpha (and I will continue to call her that) dog we have had to be more aggressive with and on top of her all the time. ie putting her on her back when she was a puppy. I am also an avid runner and have been running with my dogs from the time that they were a year or so old, giving them the exercise and balance that comes with a good run.
You "dog experts" need to check yourselves. There is no one way to raise a dog. I tend not to listen to "expert" advice either when it comes to my animals, unless it is from my vet, because so often your advice is conflicting with the advice of your peers. I pass along advise that has worked for my family and animals. I also don't like how dog trainers put down Caersar Millan, if it works and isn't harming animal or human, it works.
Not all dog species work the same way either. And animals in social groups will kill the offspring of others to insure that only their dna survives.

Apr 9th 2010 12:34PM It's called a crate. I hope you are kidding about this, if not you are a very very cruel person. If that dog had not bitten your grandchild, only peed on the carpet when nobody was looking, then it's fixable. I hope you never own another animal again

Apr 9th 2010 11:13AM I don't know why anyone would think that dogs don't compete for their place in a pack with humans. One of my dogs is very alpha and to this day pushes boundries wih me and with anyone who comes in the house, though it's mostly women. When she was a puppy she was much more aggresive about it, humping, barking, mouthing etc. Now it's all about the lean and other passive aggresive forms of dominance. She will lean her body weight on you to say "See, Im in charge of what is happening right now" or force your hand to pet her on her belly or chest by putting her feet in the way of your moving. My other dog was the runt of her litter, is pretty submisive with humans but gets a wild hair and competes a little, especially if the other one acts up. Feeding, as Caesar would say, off of each others energy.
While it's true that we cannot put human feelings on dogs, we can attribute their behaviors to biological instincts. Survival being the biggest issue, think about it. If you are the head of the house, clan, pack etc. you are calling the shots, getting the food, PASSING ON YOUR GENES and so forth. Saying that dogs just want to get along with humans is stripping them of their intincts and doing a great diservice to people trying to better understand their dog.
