Gadling gear review - Ultimate Ears LoudEnough volume limiting earphones {Gadling}
Sep 16th 2009 10:05AM I have owned an absolute PILE of kid headphones over the years in my efforts to simultaneously 1) protect hearing, and 2) drown out jet engine noise.
Ear buds in general cause a lot of drama b/c they hurt and fall out. In the end, I just bought two pairs of Bose QuietComfort headphones. They're not small (and my husband almost passed a kidney stone when he saw the bill), but they work like magic.

Booster seat laws: How old is your child? How big? It matters. {Gadling}
Jan 10th 2009 4:43PM Up until 2 weeks ago, my 4'7" daughter claimed to be the only 4th grader in the entire state of California still in a booster. As far as I could tell, she was right. I finally relented.
The seat belt hits her in the same place it did when she sat in a booster---I think that's the key factor. What matters is how tall you are from the waist up.

Jan 5th 2009 10:06AM Hear, hear on virtual travel not cutting it. I can't tell you how many times I've arrived somewhere, and it's nothing like I pictured it.
Babykeeper Basic hangs your baby close while you pee {Gadling}
Dec 9th 2008 9:55PM That must be a fake baby. A real baby would never be that pleased to be hung over a bathroom stall.
Travel Fail {Gadling}
Oct 14th 2008 3:19PM This put me in mind of elliott.org's new videocast. He recommends "wearing" your carryon: http://www.elliott.org/
Wonder what TSA policy would be on overloaded vests (now that they're getting so strict about pants).
SkyMall Monday: The Slanket {Gadling}
Oct 13th 2008 4:44PM This would go nicely with a Camelpak full of hot spiced wine. Or possibly an IV drip of same.

Fake baby for a traveling companion. Looks real, feels real. {Gadling}
Oct 4th 2008 1:02PM There's nothing like traveling with a real baby to make you wish you were traveling with a fake baby.
The real utility of this product, however, is sneaking into the carpool lane. Shhhhh.
